In 1987, a Roman thermal baths from the 4th century was discovered during construction work deep beneath the Trier cattle market. This impressive archaeological find has since been surrounded by a protective glass building, planned by the architect Oswald M. Ungers. The building, which presents modern archaeological work and Trier's eventful city history as a showcase, is also used for exhibitions.
A warm summer evening in July. The little chapel is on my way home from work. Because I travel by bike, I can stop at any time and enjoy the mood of the moment.
