"Lodo Libre" is not quite at the level of Hadaku Matsuri or Burning Man, and not sexy naked, but still it is amusing, healthy, and happy fun! Most participants came from Mexico City, Aguascalientes, Guadalajara, Morelia or Patzcuaro, but some came from countries far away. Whether they were traveling the world or just visiting Mexico from college on spring break, the foreigners got to get down and dirty with the locals.
Men vs women or mass chaos; No rules are needed when you have a friendly festival crowd!
Mudwrestling is called "Lucha de Lodo" or "Lucha en Lodo" in Spanish.
Afterwards the mixed up mud was used to make a cob mixture as a natural plaster for some huts under construction with natural building tecniques.

Our ofrenda in Michoacán, México represents traditional Day of the Dead customs mixed with other traditions.
The mural behind is painted by Margret. The ofrenda is designed by artist Brian Fey.
The top layer of the ofrenda has four candles which signify the four directions: north, south, east and west. It also holds two skulls found on our land; a dog and a sea turtle.
The second layer holds important magical objects that we offer for our ancestors: an hour glass, a machete, beer, elixir, crystals, water, salt, fruits and vegetables.
Tomorrow, for our day of the dead celebration, our visitors, volunteers, and residents will place poems, pictures, and memories of loved ones that have passed onto the shrine.
