Enjoyed three days of mountain golf with the boys. Cooler and quite beautiful in the mountains.

Got away for a few beautiful days at the beach to play some golf with the boys. Beautiful weather.

Probably the last nice day of the year to do this. Fallish golf scene at Western Golf Course in Redford Township Michigan.

enjoying a beautiful golf round at Legacy golf links in Aberdeen,NC

I was struck by the shape of this Beech Tree which looked like a golfer part way through the "downswing". It is amazing how trees become shaped by their environment and very often you can determine the elements that have dictated their form. However, in this instance it would be hard to speculate what had caused this mature tree to become shaped in this way!

I love the mossy green arms swinging the "tree wood"!

Photography and Golf my favourite

Well this was the start of my 18 holes yesterday....which turned out really nice...a gorgeous day was had by all..... well except for a few golfers....lol....but hey !! that's the nature of the game..... I just enjoyed going around on the little cart and shoot pretty pictures....of a really pretty course....The colors were outstanding......

This is a picture from our trip, a cruise which left from Tampa,in August 2009. Miniature golf on the top deck of the ship.

My oldest grandson slept over Saturday night... we had such a fun day, especially playing miniature golf!!

Happy Fence Friday!

Shot this a while back, a lovely classic Golf, great colour, pretty original body and stunning wheels. It was a pleasure to shoot.

My friend Louis wanted some shots of him playing golf. For this shot I was laying in the grass really close to the golf ball with the camera angled up at him.

Not as exciting as some, but still quite nice.

The impressive building on the left was constructed in 1825 to securely house stores for the estate, many of which had been shipped out from England. So how did it become a golf club?

Thomas Archer IV (1862-1934) was a keen sportsman. He was a motoring enthusiast and also the Commodore of the historic Tamar Yacht Club. www.flickr.com/photos/luminosity7/54223381886/in/dateposted/

But his real passion was golf. In 1900 he established a 9 hole golf course at Woolmers with the first tee set just outside this old stores building. The bottom floor had been converted into a club house for members of the Longford Golf Club. Championship events were held here until 1915.

Thomas Archer V (1892-1975) followed in his father's sporting footsteps, and using this literal home course to advantage became a Tasmanian champion and even competed in the Australian Open. He and his wife Marjorie Patten actually first met in their teens over a round of golf.
