Not exactly a waterfall...more like a stumble. I lost my lens hood here into the river and watched it being carried away downstream!
Taken on sunday in Rome (Italia)of course!

Last Sunday (as every second sunday of the month) came to my town the antique's market... so this time I decided to go out with the camera!!! you can find any sort of thing there... as you will see on my posting the next days!!! (some break from Santorini's shots :o))
have a nice day!!!
Since I had so many shots from this trek, thought I'd post another one with a wider view even though Flickr doesn't seem to handle panos very well. Really looks better when viewed large. This is 3 shots stitched together.
This is for my friend Gaby who was adventerous enough to accompany me on this excursion, helped me carry my gear, showed amazing patience while I was "shooting", encouraged me during one of the longest hikes I've taken in a long while and finally for not laughing at me over my height phobia when the trails took us so dangerously close to the edge of some very long drops
After meeting last Saturday with flamingos, Sunday I got up early and went to the lake but equipped with strobbist equipment for high speed photography.
This time, I did not want a simple backlight, and was lucky and there was a couple there that was allowed to take several photographs.
Regarding the color of flamingos, I thought they were all pink, but informed me that these were white and brown because they were young flamingos, and also take pink shrimp and small crustaceans from which they feed.
In this case the two events occur, they are young and their food was not of these small shrimp or crustaceans that pigmented plumage.
Lovely animals.

I held my dog Kief's queen-size blanket overhead for seven minutes in a fierce wind and heavy ground fog. The Pacific Occean, the Sky above and I, all morphed into the same misty element - as in the Universality of ALL Things - which is the mainstay of my philosophy.
Originally from South Africa, this compact plant with succulent leaves is topped with a reddish glow, each leaf outlined in red. Its striking form and color makes for a wonderful abstract. Gold Medalist - The Road To Gold III Contest - December 2009, Color Photo Award.

"Now get me out of these rags and into some Oscar de La Renta!"
We're gonna go upstairs now....maybe wash the hair, learn about some new designers...drink some tea with valium...lots of valium. And then I'm going to give poor Shoping Spree Barbie's head a proper funeral.
Found this poor Superstar Barbie at a doll show...I think the doll is a Golden Dream Barbie while the outfit is "horse lovin?"
Just think this beauty has been buried in a box for so long while her Fashionista sister was high on the shelf and...um hey there Superstar, what's with the knife?
Tonight was the worst night in my life. Want to post this just to say thanks to all of you guys for all your comments, favs and your support. I need to take a break, so I won’t be around next few days! :(

Explored ... #189! :)
The reason I have been honored by my students naming this magnificent boulder "Steve's Rock" is because they knew how many times I photographed it, and how many times near the end of the exoosure of eighteen or more minutes, an airplane would fly across the sky making a strange white line across the whole image, totally ruining the composition - and I would have to start all over again! Overhead is a major flight path towards some airport.
This HUGE boulder is sitting just above Tioga Pass at 8,500' Elevation overlooking Half Dome and the Yosemite Valley. It was stranded along with the great boulders around Olmstead Point during the Ice Age.
This lightning storm happened just after I had finished teaching a Night Photography class. It was between 3-4 a.m.
>>>TUFA: a porous rock composed of calcium carbonate and formed by precipitation from water, e.g., around mineral springs.
Mono Lake is a majestic body of water covering about 65 square miles. It is an ancient lake, over 1 million years old -- one of the oldest lakes in North America. It has no outlet.
Throughout its long existence, salts and minerals have washed into the lake from Eastern Sierra streams. Freshwater evaporating from the lake each year has left the salts and minerals behind so that the lake is now about 2 1/2 times as salty and 80 times as alkaline as the ocean.
