Vancouver Island is well known for its coastal rainforest of intense green color and density. This picture was taken at Pedder Bay Marina, the duck was just swimming among the various boats when it caught my eye. I used one of the boat as a blind to be able to approach closer to the duck. The intense color of the water is a reflection of the forested surrounding of the marina.
Here's a photo from Sugarloaf. This was some of the best conditions on the East Coast, in a while. Looking forward to 2017!

Sailing yacht AGLAIA at 66 metres (216.5 ft) was launched earlier in March by Dutch Shipyard Vitters One interesting point about this sailing yacht is her massive mast. As she is a sloop she needs one very tall and technologically advanced mast which stands over 80 meters above her deck and even further above the water line. Superyacht AGLAIA also features one of the largest composite rudders created to date.
Common Tern (Sterna hirundo)
This is a breeding adult doing it's best to chase me away. They come in fast and right at you. When they fly up just inches from your head, they poop on you. I held my camera up and just held the shutter trigger down hoping I got something. I did this several times and this is the best one. I did have to clean off the camera. Nickerson Beach Park, Long Island NY.
For those that aren't familiar with London this is the Greenwich foot tunnel. It runs under the Thames and connects Greenwich with the Isle of Dogs, leading onto Canary Wharf a mile or two beyond. At both ends of the foot tunnel is a lift plus a set of stairs. I used to know the exact number of steps to get to street level because when I was still working my folding bicycle and I used to go through this foot tunnel twice a day and more often than not one or both of the lifts would be out of service. Not sure how reliable they are these days but what I can say is when I used it on my recent visit it was working just fine. So this is me up against the wall of the lift shooting back through the glass doors towards the tunnel just as the doors have closed.
