The imposing appearance against the stormy background suggests that this is the weather god. I know that among the Germanic tribes his name was Thor. But here in Italy, with the Romans? I read in Wikipedia that the Romans believed in the Syrian weather god Iupiter Dolichenus. After they took the city of Doliche, their supreme deity, Jupiter, inherited the office of weather god. As if he didn't have enough on his plate already! In Christianity, Peter holds something like the office of weather god. When I took a picture of Peter?
A Sunday stroll through traditional orchards.
Traditional orchard meadows are a distinctive and historically evolved form of extensive fruit cultivation. These landscapes are typified by vigorous, tall-trunked trees with expansive canopies, arranged in loose clusters that significantly shape the scenery in many parts of Baden-Württemberg. These orchards typically comprise fruit trees of various species, varieties, and age groups, making them some of the most biodiverse agricultural systems in Europe. They generally consist of full and half-standard trees. Conservationists emphasize the importance of full-standard trees for their contribution to biological diversity, while orchard managers often prefer half-standards for their easier accessibility during maintenance. Unlike modern, intensively farmed orchards with dense plantings, individual trees are always visible in traditional orchard meadows. The use of pesticides is infrequent. Characteristically, the undergrowth in these orchards is either mowed or grazed.

In Europe's medieval philosophy and theology (note that they were not separated - just like the big cathedrals were not just places of worship but also the location of vast libraries) it was a common thought that two books were written "by the finger of God"; the Bible and Nature. My point here is not to return to a pre-modern world view, but to highlight that here we have a sophisticated understanding that studying and "reading" nature are an alternative way of getting closer to God [or, to use a more scholarly language, a way to educate our ignorance]. Seriously this day..driving along the Gorge...must have pulled off a dozen times...it was a spectacular sight! Hope you enjoy..It's hard to process something like this..so did the best I could. Just one exposure.
Gumbok Rangan or God's Mountain, is an imposing, solitary peak located in the remote Kargyak village. This village is inaccessible for seven months of the year due to snow and lack of roads. Gumbok Rangan is one of the most sacred sites for Zanskari Buddhists. Gumbok means God and Rangan means Natural...The foothills of the Gumbok Rangan precipice are at an altitude of 5,486 meters.
To reach here is itself an adventure. When we set out towards gumbok rangan, we had no idea how treacherous it would be to get there. But once we got there, the happiness it gave us is indescribable. I felt strong positive vibes around this sacred mountain ⛰️😍
