This is a simple story... That day, walking through the gardens, someone undoubtedly placed the glove, as seen in the photo, of the gardener so that he probably wouldn't go crazy looking for it...
The mystery will be where the other glove is?
We left early to drive down to Hobart (where I took the photos of the racing yachts). The forecast was promising and as we made our way down the highway the mist was just lifting from the mountains in the distance.
In the background is the southern end of Ben Lomond, and in the foreground the vast expanse of plains across the Northern Midlands of Tasmania. There are few trees today, but once (when Aboriginal people lived here) it was a dense forest. In fact we are not far from the hamlet named in the early colonial years as Epping Forest. Almost completely devoid of trees now - sheep grazing land.
Those trees do remind me of John Glover (1767-1849) though. Glover painted a scene not far from this location and looking in the other direction towards the Great Western Tiers range. And there were still plenty of trees then. I'll put a link to his painting below.
I came across this scene today. It fascinated me, but I did not know why. I still don't. It is Spring, and the lost glove points back to Winter. I guess, the scene is talking to me, about expectations and about loss. A lost Spring.
A pair of gloves. They are really part of my Christmas decorations but I kept them (and tiny socks) in the photo props box. Came in handy today ! They are 2" long.
Only One Glove, because today the weather forecast said it was going to be warm, But on the other Hand it could be cold.......

Rather reminds me of Modern Art, Art Deco don't you think?
I found these gloves that someone had lost and another put on fence for person to find. I snapped the pic. Thought it's rather artsy???

Another old one.
Some of my Flickr contacts' trips to the Northern edge of Kinder has inspired me to finish processing this image.
Another obsession to get the right conditions at a particular location, which I did this time.
But the reason it's been languishing on the hard drive is this.
I always tackle a shot like this by using three exposures. One for the foreground, another the same but using the finger trick to eliminate lens flare and a third exposure for the sky. Then meticulous hand blending. Thing is, I used to touch the dials to create the exposures meaning the images didn't quite line up. Photoshop still can't align them. Lesson learned. But I found some frames that might be maybe half a pixel out and spent a long while blending them.
- bought in Toronto the year the Blue Jays last won the World Series, so it is a few years old! Go Jays Go. HMM.
This one was a challenge and required a fair amount of Lightroom post processing. I had to shoot into the sun to include the frog, which of course I wanted in the picture.
They are not my size but I'm reliably informed they are warm, comfortable and really soft. What else can you ask from a pair of gloves?
” Please, reach out your Rubber Hand
I really hope you understand
That I want to hold your Hand
I really love
This Rubber Glove
Please do NOT think I’m lazy

So I hope you will excuse me”

For the Smile on Saturday challenge: "Gloves"
Winter is the time for indoor gardening! I bring all kinds of planters and plant pots into the house or the potting shed, to overwinter away from the frosts, gales and (sometimes) snow! So these are my lavender gloves - soft leather and flexible to help handling the plants gently.
HSoS ;o))
