The use of ultrasound is a controversial subject in India as unfortunately it has been used illegally for gender determination during pregnancy leading to eventual female feticide at illegal clinics.
In fact, stored images within the ultrasound machines are even randomly searched for evidence of any improper use, which can result in fines and even imprisonment.
