Since returning from South America I have been itching to get Inspire back in the sky. After getting through a fairly glitchy firmware upgrade (which ended up requiring a full past 10month FW upgrade process) I’ve had 2 fantastic weekends with the aircraft flying better than ever.

So - here is a little sky-ward intermission from the Patagonia shots.

This one was shot yesterday. The forecast was looking crazy mixed, rain + high cloud. I had planned on going to check out a waterfall in the Royal National Park with a good friend when the sky started to show a little promise. In a hasty last minute change of plans we raced down the road to a location I have visited many many times but am yet to get a shot I’ve been happy with.

At the start things weren’t looking great but all of a sudden the reds turned on. I was busy with the D810 (shots yet to come) but had inspire set-up and ready for take-off. Here’s what I was able to catch before the glorious reds disappeared for the morning.

When I first saw this old stone house from a distance, I thought it was a mill.And then a house. Turns out it was a creamery that produced cheese and butter in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Not all it produces is good pics,as well as sadness for its increasingly derelict condition....

I never thought i could like a LeLutka head (too top model-ish for my tastes), until Fleur happened.

I still love my Babyface very much, but the animations are terribad and it was glitchy AF (some of my friends witnessed glitches that were beyond demonic possession :v), so i decided to give Fleur and Ryn a try 'cause they looked more girl next door to me. And it was love with Fleur. It kinda looks like a mix between my old Catya shape and my Babyface shape.

I'm still fiddling with the shape because i'm forever unsatisfied, but i really love it. ❤

Charing Cross Underground Station, London, England

Oh my! You would not believe how long it took me to upload this photo, hours!! It seems that the Flickr and Lightroom upload plugin are a bit glitchy at the moment since downloading the latest version of Lightroom CC and it just kept returning error message after error message everytime I tried uploading it. Also I have noticed when you do finally get it uploaded, the tags you pain painstakingly put into Lightroom have not uploaded along with the photo so then you then have to put them in manually. I am sure Flickr will get it fixed but I can see how it can put some photographers off.

Phew! Anyway, this is one my photos from the Charing Cross Hidden London tour that I took during the Summer. Such a really enjoyable tour and got to see parts of the tube I never thought I would get to see.

Location Information

Charing Cross (sometimes informally abbreviated as Charing X) is a London Underground station at Charing Cross in the City of Westminster with entrances located in Trafalgar Square and The Strand. The station is served by the Northern and Bakerloo lines and provides an interchange with the National Rail network at Charing Cross station. On the Northern line it is between Embankment and Leicester Square stations on the Charing Cross branch, and on the Bakerloo line it is between Embankment and Piccadilly Circus stations. The station is in Travelcard Zone 1. The station was served by the Jubilee line between 1979 and 1999, acting as the southern terminus of the line during that period.

For most of the history of the Underground the name Charing Cross was associated not with this station but with the station now known as Embankment.

A great site for free photos/art

Most of the time when the horizontal stripes take over an image it's not interesting, and I go back and adjust the image so it turns out less glitchy. Every now and then I get a gem.

My old Sony a6400 has a build spec of 200,000 shutter clicks. It is now at 222,920 according to the Sony Aplha shutter counter. It can be a little glitchy at this point and I'd really like the new a6700 camera to be fully operational.

I'm waiting (along with everyone else) for compatilbe storage and editing products. Adobe will get to it whenever they do. Patience...

I always people-watch at my university and I decided to tweak this simple photograph ;)

This is a set of three variations based on a single image. The original is an in-camera multiple exposure of two ICMs of the same tree branches, taken early this year. The camera blend mode was Lighten which erases parts of the dark branches giving it a glitchy feel.

The three versions are progressions. The monochrome one is a straight edit using Nik Silver Efex to convert to B&W. I rather liked the intermittent patterns this produced.

The second is the same but this time tinkering in Silver Efex with toning and inverting the Curves graph (in the film attributes) to give it a blue negative look. The effect was quite different to the plain edit, like a moonlit scene.

The third version was an over-mangle for Sliders Sunday today. Version 2 was processed in Nik Color Efex using a bit of solarisation and a Bicolor filter to reintroduce some colours. Then I decided to try mangling some more, so I duplicated the layer, flipped the copy horizontally and then blended the two layers with Pin Light. (I’ve rarely used Pin Light before so it was a novelty for me, though the best of the blend modes in this instance). Finally, a bit of tinkering with the colour and brightness, and a run-through with Topaz Denoise AI to get rid of some of the noise overprocessing introduced.

The end result strikes me as being a bit sinister though that was not my intention.

An update from Flickr on the issue of my upload not getting viewed by most of you is that they can do nothing to help me because the fault is with your feed. They say "The best bet is for users who aren't seeing all content in their feeds to reach out directly to Support." though I have no idea how you can know that you are not seeing images from the people you follow. ## I will warn you that it is not recommended that you change the transparency of the dome when it comes to the one with the hat, as the alphas start clashing and acting goofy. One of my surprising finds at Montreal's jazz festival was this powerful vocalist from South Africa. The joy of the festival is discovering great musicians from around the world. As I upload this in 2018 tonight I heard an amazing vocalist from the UK, a jamming Afrobeat band from the Continent, and a fantastic group that fused rock with Turkish and Iranian music. And I'm not much of a rock fan!

Taken with "the wrong lens." I meant to grab my 50-200mm but instead grabbed the nearly identical 100-300mm L -- my mistake because I had removed the rubber band I keep on the latter to stop zoom creep. Yet the Prima Donna did well here, overcoming her dislike of both low light and moving subjects. Compares favorably to the Sharon Jones shot next in my stream, taken with the renown Canon EF 80-200mm 2.8 L.

(Once again, my glitchy 50D didn't record the lens model).
