This Bewick's wren was perched next to the path, and gave me a backward glance, so I moved on.

A portrait of Molly.

Not really sure if this was a sneak peek or a "what did I do" glance, but it was really fun to watch these two interact. After the young bull came down to the lake these two stopped to stare at each other and then continued on with their feeding.

Thanks for your views and comments - they are so appreciated!

The Song Thrush might not look like much at first glance. That's until you hear it sing. Its song is like a Blackbird song, only with more variety of "words".

Two Demoiselle Cranes (Grus virgo) were standing together during a drinks break. They drink water one after another as one of them always keeps an eye on surroundings whether in flocks or in tandem. This is for the vigilance. The posture of the birds and handsome head angles in parallel have made a delightful composition to frame. Pics was taken from a village in Rajasthan, India.

Bird in Africa (1394)

An image from a couple weeks back of an American Goldfinch nicely perched on a reed giving me an over-the-shoulder glance. There was a bit of a breeze that day which added some fluff to this guys plumage.

Thanks for taking a look...Have a great day :)

This shot is taken through the arch within a large artificial Christmas tree.

Thanks for visiting.....

Have a good weekend.

Zwei Berliner Wahrzeichen. Der Dom und der Fernsehturm, auch "Alex" genannt.

Two Berlin landmarks: The cathedral and the television tower, also called "Alex".

The old and the new, relatively close it would seem

their names are shared on this unusual scene

Alex was chosen a long time ago before screens

sharing a message so far and so wide,

strong in it's faith outside and inside

along came Alex on the wider screen

spreading it's message to all it would seem

the combination of both it is true . . .

spells out messages to all those that know

and now what will be next, who can say

a smart phone called Alex and the price we pay

we cannot turn the clocks back progress is here

I guess for most, the message is also loud and clear

keep your eyes glued don't look everywhere

but please keep your voices quiet and calm . . .

as you would in the first Alex seen . . .

times have changed sadly it's true progress yes,

but what next and who holds the clues ! !

Poem from my friend Bev www.flickr.com/photos/beverleyplaya/

When I saw this iPhone advertising hoarding at an underground station last summer and then glanced inside the open doors of the train that was just getting ready to depart I thought to myself - "This is just too easy...". That didn't stop me from taking the shot though! 😄

Smile On Saturday: "Ton sur ton" theme

Ton sur ton is a French expression that translates as "tone on tone," meaning a photo of a colored object (in this case, the duck) on a background of a different shade of the same color (in this case, the reflections).

It's a female Mallard. I'm not sure why she has white feathers stuck to her bill.

HSoS

A baby gorilla takes a pause from grooming to look upward at a distraction in a nearby tree. I still can't get over the amount of expression in their faces.

Not only a glance into the far distance, but also one far back to the beginning of my photography. I never uploaded this image and the reason for that might be that it originally looked pretty flat and back then I was not into editing images. However, I now tried my best in editing this JPG file from a 10 megapixel Sony A300 which I took 8 years ago and even though it lacks quality, I really love it. Hope you like it too!

A backward glance from the juvenile Anna's Hummingbird (Calypte anna) I think he's grown accustomed to the click of the camera, but he still looks over!

i was driving by..and took a second glance and saw the reflection...had to stop...sheesh had to stop every 5 miles with such beautiful scenery...

this is close to salmon idaho....and the lost trail pass....cool....place

A great blue heron tossed a furtive glance my way, hoping not to be noticed. Sorry, oh Great One. Sometimes I'm the bird paparazzi

At first glance, they may appear to be huge plants against the surrounding landscape, but they were actually growing at the top of a slope.

This green heron was perched, ready to strike. The algae was still covering Commonwealth Lake when I shot this in August, but that didn't seem to prevent the heron from seeing its prey.

I was shooting at the Mayfest and loved the look she gave as a motorcycle drove right by the group on the edge of the festival.
