Hypopyrrhus pyrohypogaster

(Red-bellied Grackle / Cacique candela)

It is not what it seems at first glance, a parent feeding his chick. It is actually about two adult red bellied grackles and it is a courtship behavior

And no.. we don't talk about furniture..

Much.

This Bewick's wren was perched next to the path, and gave me a backward glance, so I moved on.

Something caught the attention of the Northern Hawk Owl as he was perched on the branch, for a brief moment he glanced up to take a look and that's when I snapped the shutter.

A portrait of Molly.

For some reason its terrible quality , but i kinda like it

A last look before the hunt resumed.

Not really sure if this was a sneak peek or a "what did I do" glance, but it was really fun to watch these two interact. After the young bull came down to the lake these two stopped to stare at each other and then continued on with their feeding.

Alicja Kwade: Entitas

"The work of Berlin-based artist Alicja Kwade repeatedly explores a transferral of scientific questioning into artistic concepts. Her exhibition ENTITAS offers poetic, intuitively comprehensible responses to the conundrum of what transpires in the invisible plenums of knowledge; what is it that happens between two blinks of an eye, between two glances?

Kwade’s exhibition title ENTITAS (Latin: entity) alludes to enquiries about the essence of things: what is the world made of? And further even: what information is available for us to attempt an answer to this question?

Extending into the space of the room, the installation “Die bewegte Leere des Moments” [The Moving Emptiness of the Moment] is central to the exhibition. It was created for Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt in 2015 and consists of two objects—a colossal stone and a copper station clock—that orbit above the heads of the visitors; motion is rendered perceptible as a draft. Enhanced by loudspeakers, both the ticking of the clock and the sound of the stone cutting through the air are audible. Time is passing. The composition as a whole evokes the basic functions of human existence: heartbeat and breathing. In that way the objects, their protons and electrons, revolve around an ever elusive center, indicating the very interspace that appears to us as emptiness." www.koeniggalerie.com/exhibitions/15194/entitas/

An image from a couple weeks back of an American Goldfinch nicely perched on a reed giving me an over-the-shoulder glance. There was a bit of a breeze that day which added some fluff to this guys plumage.

Thanks for taking a look...Have a great day :)

Have a good weekend.

Yellow-rumped Thornbill with canola fields in the background. (Reedy Lake, VIC)

We all have had some amazing wildlife experiences, living on the east coast of the USA, encounters with wild animals are few and far between. However on a trip to Alaska before the pandemic, I had a short lived but an amazing encounter with this wild Canada Lynx.

Your comments and likes are always appreciated.

A backward glance from the juvenile Anna's Hummingbird (Calypte anna) I think he's grown accustomed to the click of the camera, but he still looks over!

Not only a glance into the far distance, but also one far back to the beginning of my photography. I never uploaded this image and the reason for that might be that it originally looked pretty flat and back then I was not into editing images. However, I now tried my best in editing this JPG file from a 10 megapixel Sony A300 which I took 8 years ago and even though it lacks quality, I really love it. Hope you like it too!

A Hooded Pitta (Pitta sordida) was framed offering best of portrait poses on a perch with curious eyes. Although it was resting under shades the backdrop here was so sublime and smooth that the bird looks very charming. It was long search under hot and humid conditions for it and finally got some snaps in its habitat. Pics was taken from Bibhutibhusan Wildlife Sanctuary, West Bengal, India.

A Roseate Spoonbill pauses it's early morning preening to give a glance towards the sneaky photographers crouching in the mud.
