And no.. we don't talk about furniture..

This Bewick's wren was perched next to the path, and gave me a backward glance, so I moved on.

Something caught the attention of the Northern Hawk Owl as he was perched on the branch, for a brief moment he glanced up to take a look and that's when I snapped the shutter.

This good-looking Barn Owl gave me a glance as he flew on by. There's nothing like an owl to make your day! (Tyto alba)

Not really sure if this was a sneak peek or a "what did I do" glance, but it was really fun to watch these two interact. After the young bull came down to the lake these two stopped to stare at each other and then continued on with their feeding.

Alicja Kwade: Entitas

"The work of Berlin-based artist Alicja Kwade repeatedly explores a transferral of scientific questioning into artistic concepts. Her exhibition ENTITAS offers poetic, intuitively comprehensible responses to the conundrum of what transpires in the invisible plenums of knowledge; what is it that happens between two blinks of an eye, between two glances?

Kwade’s exhibition title ENTITAS (Latin: entity) alludes to enquiries about the essence of things: what is the world made of? And further even: what information is available for us to attempt an answer to this question?

Extending into the space of the room, the installation “Die bewegte Leere des Moments” [The Moving Emptiness of the Moment] is central to the exhibition. It was created for Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt in 2015 and consists of two objects—a colossal stone and a copper station clock—that orbit above the heads of the visitors; motion is rendered perceptible as a draft. Enhanced by loudspeakers, both the ticking of the clock and the sound of the stone cutting through the air are audible. Time is passing. The composition as a whole evokes the basic functions of human existence: heartbeat and breathing. In that way the objects, their protons and electrons, revolve around an ever elusive center, indicating the very interspace that appears to us as emptiness." www.koeniggalerie.com/exhibitions/15194/entitas/

Devil Devil

Devil, devil

clever devil devil

How quickly they do sell their souls

For the feast and the promise of gold

But devil that won't be me

Devil, devil

Bones of metal metal

You torture saints with a single glance

Make them think they ever stood a chance

Do not try me devil devil

Cannot buy me devil devil

You won't make a fool of me oh no

What makes you so special special

to think i would ever settle

For that devious dance between you and me devil devil

rebel rebel call me rebel rebel

i walk the plank, not a tear in my eye

i won't go down your blushing bride

Under the water i'll be sharpening my knife

do not try me devil devil

cannot buy me devil devil

You won't make a fool of me oh no

What makes you so special special

to think i would ever settle

For that devious dance between you and me devil devil

you take the shape of

everything that I'm drawn to

you take the shape of

everything that I'm drawn to

but your eyes

are dead and red

red as rust

Do not try me devil devil

Cannot buy me devil devil

You won't make a fool of me oh no

What makes you so special special

to think i would ever settle

For that devious dance between you and me devil devil

Have a good weekend.

Crocuses are in the Iris family and have long been popular as garden plants in the UK for their early spring flowering and bright, cheerful colours. None of the true crocuses are native here, with most originating from SE Europe and Asia Minor. This page also includes the meadow saffrons, which are at first glance very similar to crocuses. Meadow saffrons are in the family Colchicaceae and, like crocuses, are plants that survive as underground bulbs.

A backward glance from the juvenile Anna's Hummingbird (Calypte anna) I think he's grown accustomed to the click of the camera, but he still looks over!

Not only a glance into the far distance, but also one far back to the beginning of my photography. I never uploaded this image and the reason for that might be that it originally looked pretty flat and back then I was not into editing images. However, I now tried my best in editing this JPG file from a 10 megapixel Sony A300 which I took 8 years ago and even though it lacks quality, I really love it. Hope you like it too!

I passed by this reptile twice thinking it was some dry leaf of a tree and never gave a second glance at it. The camo is unusual - these are normally seen in green leafy camo and almost impossible to spot.

But here, it was in dark brown, am not sure why that is. I was following a birds call and was looking for it. A cursory shot helped me id'ed t and I was thrilled with the sighting.

These are common reptiles, but hard to sight unless they are on the ground or someone knows where and how to look. They are super slow creatures and I think they are quite easy prey for raptors, but never sighted any bird catching it yet. Maybe they are hard to sight for those birds too.

Appreciate all your views and feedback. Many thanks in advance.

This green heron was perched, ready to strike. The algae was still covering Commonwealth Lake when I shot this in August, but that didn't seem to prevent the heron from seeing its prey.

My 7 y old a few days before his birthday. I did remember my Canon 50 mm lens again which was stuck in the camera bag for way too long - great for taking protraits.

I was shooting at the Mayfest and loved the look she gave as a motorcycle drove right by the group on the edge of the festival.
