Using the Optimal Rocket Calculator website (garycourt.github.io/korc/), I built this graph to show how cost changes for varying payloads and boosters.
If you are optimizing for cost and using asparagus staging, the smaller rockets are pretty expensive but the cost per ton of payload drops pretty quickly and flattens out at about 30 tons. The takeaway is that it is always better to launch as big a payload as you can in one launch rather than splitting up the payload into multiple launches. Want to build a space station? Don't launch a bunch of modules to assemble in orbit, like the ISS. Do it all at once if you can.
At least, up to about 30 tons. After that, the cost per ton to orbit flattens out.
The next takeaway is that asparagus staging is cheaper. The steps in the graph are caused by the difference between engines. When you max out the capabilities of the Skipper and switch over to a Mainsail, the cost jumps. But then begins to decline as the amount of fuel tanks goes up, but not at as fast a rate as the engine can turn that fuel into delta-V, generating cost savings.
Trying to keep the part count down can actually be more expensive than using multiple smaller engines and tanks. All that surplus delta-V is economically wasteful.

Github down. Couldn't see the video either but thats a client problem. It's interesting that more and more companies use more sophisticated media and it fails as well.
I'm wondering how you could get around this problem as a company and as an individual. A git repository can be set up on another temporary server. So for individual users you can get around this. As for Github the company, the hard disk failure will happen as disks reach their MTBF.
How can you create a service that is fault tolerant of disk failure?
