I specify that I have never used gimmicks to increase the number of views.
Also, I don't change from hour to hour the loading time of my photos to get more visits to the detriment of other flickers.

Little gimmick with the telephoto lens. In my opinion, the long focal length is an advantage for capturing exactly what you want to show in the picture.
Back from the States. Had enough time for such gimmicks in the evening. A forest picture from the Odenwald, the rest is a graphics tablet

At first glance, this cannot be the Krumme Lanke in Berlin. Mountains, where are there mountains in Berlin? In the neighbouring district of Wilmersdorf there is the Teufelsberg 120,1 mtr. and in Köpenik the Großer Müggelberg 114,7 mtr. The mountain you see here is the Fujiyama 3776,24 m high.
While editing in Luminar I landed at Al Angneted Sky on object selection and was very surprised what happened to my photo when I clicked on Montains 4. My lake suddenly had Fujiama in the background. A nice gimmick.
Dear friends, I wish you a merry Sunday, stay alert and stay healthy, I send my best wishes to you and your loved ones.

Last minute idea and entry for the "Flame" theme. I actually wanted to skip, but then remembered that pair of "kaleidoscope glasses" once bought as a gimmick at a museum. This must be the quickest MM shot I've ever taken. From taking the photo, some ultra-fast processing in Topaz Sharpen AI and ON1 Photo RAW to the upload in 39 minutes ;-) I wish it could always be that uncomplicated ;-)
This is one single tealight which I'd placed in front of a mirror and then photographed it through the above mentioned pair of faceted glasses.
HMM, Everyone, stay safe and healthy, and have a nice week ahead!

I'm in the process of clearing out all kinds of things. Lots of magazines, old paper samples, print proof copies and, above all, office paperwork – yes, even books will still have to believe in them ;-) – end up in the paper garbage can. And since metal has no place in the waste paper, I neatly pulled off these old paper clips. And I will probably keep these little ones, at least the unbent ones – even if I will most likely not use them anymore. An outdated method – because: who still prints something today and then staples it together?
///

I tried the e-m1mk3's hand-held hi-res mode for this. It turns out I'm not stable enough at slower shutter speeds for the 16 shots it collects to make sense to the combining algorithm. Combining that many frames gets rid of some of the high-ISO noise though so ISO 1600 I shot this at is reasonably clean despite the steep curves I applied. It's not a worthless gimmick, I'll try it on something that actually needs hi-res next.
It's partitions in an art gallery shot from the floor above. Arter, Istanbul.
I thought this was a nice advertising gimmick for the Glenn Lester Company. I think carrying around that heavy sign has been hard on the tires though. This stone yard is located off a well traveled country road so I pulled into the entrance drive to take a picture. I had to stay right near the entrance to get a picture without the piles of dirt blocking the old truck. While my car was blocking the entrance for about one minute, I heard a loud horn. Of course, it was a large stone truck trying to get into the yard. I have had the worst luck lately. Anyway, I quickly moved further into the yard and found a place to pull out of his way and turn around. Probably about one stone truck an hour comes in and out, unless I am there. HTT
I’ll be mostly off for the next couple of days for Memorial Day Weekend! Have a nice weekend, my friends.
I have been experimenting with taking day shots and using Photoshop's "invert" feature to convert the shot to a negative image. Day then becomes night. This is essentially the same shot as "Adams Street" (Malta, Illinois) in my feed below. A gimmick in my opinion for sure but still interesting to play around with.
It is neither an apocalyptic threat proclaiming the end of all life,
nor a gimmick with Photoshop, Luminar or any other software.
This is merely a spectacle that can regularly be seen above the Bremen steelworks when the blast furnaces are tapped.
In clear nights, all you see is a red glow, but with low-hanging clouds the effect is very dramatic.
If you've ever wondered why someone decides to go on a tour at four o clock in the morning only to walk an hour through the icy night after another hour's drive, then this should be a first clue to the answer. An outlook in two ways, so to speak.
This photo of the Vilsalpsee in Austria is not the reason, it's more of a gimmick that I've always wanted to do. You'll have to wait a little longer for the proof that every effort was more than worth it for me.

This is a low tide fjord scenario from Iceland's Westfjords. I found it absolutely fascinating how the power lines were traced to cross the landscape using all kinds of gimmicks to get the ppwer poles across the water and beyond.
Happy Textural Tuesday!
The typical picture of “buffalo” roaming the great North American plains understates just how far the bison ranged in their heyday. In the 18th century they could be found as far afield as Alaska, New York . . . and, yes, even Florida.
So when the Florida park service in 1975 reintroduced a small herd to Paynes Prairie State Park, just south of Gainesville, it was no gimmick. It was part of a plan to restore the Alachua Savanna to something like its appearance in the late 1700s.
This is only the second time we have seen any of the bison. This was taken from the viewing platform on Bolen Bluff Trail. There are two highways that cut through the Prairie, 441 which is behind the bison in this image and I-75 on the other end of the Prairie. We found out there is an Eco-passage for the animals to cross under 441, but the road was being resurfaced while we were there and we couldn't walk out on the boardwalk accessible from the highway. The herd numbers about 50 bison at this time.
Happy Telegraph Tuesday!
We were at the Sequoia National Park spending our evening looking at the mountain ranges submerged with the pink-purple hue left by the setting sun at the Moro Rock. We decided to stay for the stars. We kept a keen eye for shooting starts but didn't saw any (there were some small sparks but we didn't agree that they were meteorites).
After it went pitch dark it seem to be a good place to shoot some stars. The first shot itself showed a clean milky way! I was excited and thought to use the galaxy as the backdrop! We put the camera on the tripod close to the ground and stood in front and tried our best not to shake for the next 30secs. But as usual we moved a bit and so took a total of three shots.
This is a single shot with no gimmicks, no photoshoping etc, just the usual, blacks, whites, highlights, contrast and a bit cropping form the bottom.
