Mark, the Cuban Treefrog (Osteopilus septentrionalis) changes colors, not typically to blend into an environment, but based on temperature and mood. This is similar to chameleons, who often communicate with one another through their flashy displays. Interestingly, the treefrog's skin is fused to his skull, an adaptation that minimizes water loss. Also, so invasive is this species that if you get caught selling one in Hawaii (where the these frogs have colonized Oahu), you could wind up in jail and paying fines of up to $25,000!
Mark lives in captivity after being rescued from what would have been an ill-fated trip stowing away on a greenhouse shipment.
In the heart of Ambleside, is a quaint stone mill, its weathered walls blending with the cobbled charm of the Lake District village. She hummed while pacing back and forth. The tiny house shivering from her unwelcomed presence.
"One, two..." she sung, "Stab it through..."
"Three , four.." She paused, hopping over the seat and balancing the little puppets. "Scream for more..." she giggled.
The sound of a wolf howling outside made her lick her lips. The hunger for blood, for a meal suddenly making her belly rumble in need. Just as she was about to stop playing with the puppets, she heard several other howls in response and pouted.
"Why did it have to be a pack..." she hissed, her tail swaying from side to side in obvious bloodlust.
"Too hungry...if only it was a lone wolf...I could have feasted..." she sighed dramatically, shaking her head. "Perhaps I could eat them all..."
The puppets were left unattended and off she went.
Scent of smell luring her closer to her prey. The first wolf that howled was on the ready, hair rising, tail swaying dangerously and teeth barred all ready to attack her. She lunged.
The fight was not so bad. Decorated with red she bit into the wolf's neck, pulling a chunk of flesh before tossing the body to the ground. Licking her fingers while listening to the heartbeat of the creature. She reveled in the kill.
"Should I put you out of your misery?" she cooed towards the wolf, leaning closer only giving the warrior one chance to bite at her face in a sad attempt at some victory.
Just as she was about to retaliate, a group of wolves attacked her all at once...
Lets just say that she underestimated a wolf pack. United together, never abandoning one another and most of all, fighting to the very end to survive. That's just something she doesn't understand about humanity or animals. Why do they fight so much? To what end?

Joy in the ordinary! We had a lovely time watching a family feeding the gulls at Woodbridge. The gulls were swooping to take bread from the hands of the children, and the children were giggling with delight! Sadly no photos of the feeding frenzy, but one of a Black-Headed Gull resting on the river wall in between each feeding fly past!

Sometimes, just sometimes I give out a little giggle of joy when I take a photo. I just know all the elements have come together and I’ve captured something special, that’s to say special to me, somebody else might only see an ugly mustard mess. The canvas looked beautiful this morning as I entered the beach between two grassed dunes. With the sun punching through the soft light and reflecting off the sea, I’d already clocked the lone angler at the end of the steel and decided it could be an image. Then I saw the starlings being very lively on piles of washed up seaweed collecting the flies and I knew they would take flight in a moment into a mini murmuration. They were off as I turned panning their flight behind me and then across my canvas, I took the image as they covered the viewfinder and my eye caught the silhouette of the lone angler, I gave out a little giggle. I’d just fell back in love with photography again.
