Interior of the Salvatorkirche (Church of the Savior), a Greek Orthodox church with a slightly convoluted history:
Built in late Gothic style in 1493 as a cemetery church for the relocated cemetery of the Frauenkirche.
With the secularization in 1803 it should be destroyed, but it was used as important storage, so destruction was avoided.
In 1806 it was gifted to the Lutheran community in Munich, but due to continued usage as depot the Lutheran community could not use it. With the decision to build the Lutheran St. Matthäus church in 1825 the Lutherans returned St. Salvator to the crown.
In 1828 King Ludwig I of Bavaria gave it to the Greek Orthodox community for use, but the church building remained property of the state.
After this it remained Greek Orthodox and was renovated multiple times, most recently some interior refurbishing happened in 2022.

LOVE IS LIKE A BUTTERFLY – DOLLY PARTON
SEPTEMBER DANCES
Butterfly kisses tickling my cheek
with gentle soft wings fluttering and meek
whispered words brushing my ears
caressing my skin
warm and golden
sun-kissed and velvety peach texture
such fine downy feelings
dreamy, delightful and meaningful glances
that conjure up September dances
of love and longing
such sweet all-embracing
touching and tracing our finger tips
down profiles so gleaming
in the subtly revealing
after-glow that left us
belonging and longing for more
knowing that this may be all that we have
let us savour the moments,
so precious and glad
to have gifted this time to each other.

Many years ago, my father found a rattlesnake lying in the middle of dirt road near his house. Assuming the snake was dead, he carefully placed it in a deep plastic open bucket. He then placed that in the cab of his pickup truck. Knowing a nearby neighbor often ate rattlesnake meat, he decided to surprise his friend. Imagine my father's shock when he heard the distinctive rattle coming from the bucket. Fortunately the snake could not scale the slippery sides of the container. Later my father gifted me with this story and the snake skin. What a remarkable man he was. I'm glad I could share this story with you!
I was recently thinking about some of the beautiful outfits I've been given as gifts during the past year by some truly special people I know in Second Life. So then I decided, perhaps a nice way to show how much I appreciated and enjoyed these clothing gifts would be to take some pictures of me in the outfits, and post those pictures here on Flickr.
This darling ensemble was from my friend Tabby. It's a risqué little number, but I love it!
** From Fountains Abbey it is only a short walk along the river to the Studley Royal water gardens . The gardens were designed by John Aislabie in the early seventeenth century, they are a fine example of a Georgian water gardens
The Temple of Piety seen in the centre of the image is one of the many neo-classical buildings in Studley Royal.
a bit more background
In the early 18th-century John Aislabie had great plans to impress visitors to his Yorkshire estate and so turned the wild and wooded valley of the river Skell into one of England’s most spectacular Georgian water gardens.
John Aislabie inherited the Studley Royal estate in 1693. He was a socially and politically ambitious man and became Chancellor of the Exchequer in 1718. Disaster struck his career in 1720 due to his part in the South Sea Bubble financial scandal and he was expelled from Parliament. It was then that John returned to Yorkshire and devoted himself to creating this ground-breaking garden. Inspired by the work of the great French landscape gardeners, the two gifted amateurs created the Water Garden with its formal, geometric design and extraordinary vistas; including the much photographed Temple of Piety. You can also find classical statues, follies and garden buildings carefully positioned within the landscape to discover and enjoy.
Amazingly the garden you see today is little changed from the one that would have impressed Aislabie’s visitors 200 years ago.

MosaiCanada150 display represented every province and territory in Canada with a living statue dedicated to the unique character of each place, this celebratory attraction comes from Mosaïcultures Internationales de Montreal headed by Lise Cormier’s who for the past 17 years has grown this artform into an international competition that travels every 3-4 years to a new participant country.
This display took place in 2017 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the confederation of Canada and in less volatile days Canada’s relationship with China was closer than today, so much so that China actually gifted to Canada two of the largest displays of the event one from Shanghai depicting the dance of the “Nine Lions” and another donated by Beijing depicting the “Blessing of the Good Omen Dragons”.
According to legend the imperial Dragon fathered nine dragon sons whom he divided the heavens into nine kingdoms that each ruled, in ancient times it was believed that the Emperor was descended from this lineage, captured here are two imperial dragons playing with a pearl representing the sun or moon a common depiction in Chinese art.
I took this on Aug 10, 2017 with my D750 and Nikon 16-35mm f4 Lens at 35mm 1/50 sec f/16 ISO100 processed in LR, PS +Lumenzia, Topaz , and DXO

A simple translation for my friends who are curious about the words - - -
What is the one thing that drives you crazy?
As if the daily meals are optional, and you never noticed when you fell asleep..
Worry not about the things that you don't have.
You are already gifted.
Both Mandarin ducks and Mandarin oranges play special roles in Chinese traditions! Mandarin ducks are like the ultimate lovebirds, symbolizing romance and loyalty. Mandarin oranges are the stars of Chinese New Year, gifted to spread good luck and prosperity.
Mandarin Ducks are pretty but unsavory to eat,
Mandarin oranges, sweet treats that can't be beat.

Hi my friends, I had a chance to go to Costa Serina yesterday, a small town in the Pre-Alps of Bergamo. It had been a long time since I last was there, and the place gifted me with a beautiful sunset. As I captured my bracketings I could not avoid thinking of the exceptionally high death toll that the area has paid to Covid-19. When a primary national TV network broadcasted the official commemoration of the victims of the pandemic in the province of Bergamo, some 3 weeks ago, the programme had a 12,3% of the audience share (i.e. an average of 2,387,000 spectators). Not without reason: about 6,000 people died for Covid in that area, which has been by far the most striken by the infection in Italy. And we knew that the official dead counts are grossly underestimated months before JAMA told this to the world. I remember - how could one forget? - the news on the TV when I was quarantined: the long columns of military lorries full of coffins which were overcrowding the hospitals' morgues. And the searing tears flowing from my very soul. So I wish to dedicate this sunset - painted with the colours of sorrow and the hues of hope - to all the victims of the infection in the province of Bergamo, and to their beloved ones who has been spared. Somehow.
And here it ends, for once, my text - my tears do not though...
This photo was given to me today. It's a scene from the Metrics Cheerleaders Saturday practice, which I attend whenever I can.
I like this photo so much that I wanted to share it. Many thanks to Shawn for taking this picture.
These guys are regular birds in the bay and can be seen all year round.
Gifted with the perfect camouflage they should be the consummate masters of disguise. As always they can't keep still, makes my job of finding them easier though.

Sacred Kingfishers mate for life and during the Courtship phase of each breeding season he engages in Courtship feeding to strengthen the bond and prove he is a good provider, also just so he can get closer to her. Here he is looking very proud as he has just gifted her with a nice fat Frog.
She can't walk anymore without the aid of a walking stick, but this gray-haired 91-year-old lady still has an amazing good memory.
For one thing, she still remembers the first name of my deceased mother whom she last met 60 years ago.
I was then just a little boy, so I can't recall an instant having seen her at our place of abode when she went there to pay to my mother her husband's rent for the use of a piece of farm lot. She started talking to me, however, after a young relative of hers mentioned my family name within her hearing distance, and this was when I paid a first visit to her son at his home today.
I was totally surprised when she asked me, "How's Ate Rosie?" ("Ate," a Pilipino word, is a common title of respect for an older sister, but is also used for other older non-relative woman.) In answer, I said that my mother has passed away already a decade ago at the age of 84 years old.

Yeah, I shoot about 300 rolls with my Mamiya 7ii since it was gifted to me by imaginary santa nearly 3 years ago. The gift also included the 135 mm adapter kit and the 43mm and the 150mm lenses. On christmas eve I opened the package. There she was, my Isabella (aka the Mamiya 7ii).
So, what do I think about the Mamiya... after 300 rolls with film?
I can summarize my experience with two words; WAAAAY OVERRATED!!!!
I really thought this camera would make me a better photographer. But the fact is; I have only about 1-3% "success" rate or "keepers" since I've starting making photos with it. That is about one good photo or keeper for every 3 rolls I shoot. I have no problem to admit I'm not worthy of a Mamiya 7.
It's like giving a formula one car to a blind guy.
A couple of months after I got the camera, I went to Venice. I remember the first night. I was out taking night photos. A couple of german dudes came up to me asking if I was shooting with the Mamiya 7? I proudly said; yeeees! One of them followed up by asking how long I been doing analog photography. I politely replied I've been doing film for about a year. They both rolled their eyes in disbelief. And, went off without sayin one more word.
The few photos I even think is "good", peoples have questioned. A while ago I posted a night photo (long exposure) from Venice. I REALLY thought this was my moment to shine on Flickr. The photo started well after I posted it. Then, a russian guy commented the photo. Saying that my exposure was way of, that the highlights was blown away and poorly executed. After that comment, the photo "died" faster than the speed of light.
Not even one more like. Flickr users sure read the comments, and thats a good thing. The day after I went to my archives,
to check the negative. Scanned the photo numerous times. I found nothing wrong with it. The negative was perfect. It was developed with stand development. So I even had more latitude to work with. I deleted the comment. The guy commenting has over 8000 followers, so he was probarbly right. I indeed think my photos is actually better than they actually are, so I use the hastag #shittyphotograper on ocations just to remind myself.
Note; I posted the photo in the comment section. I really like to know what is wrong with this photo. So I can learn from my mistakes, and avoid this in my future work/posts. Used a diffusion filter (not a fan of sunstars in my photos). Also, shot this at f/11 to retain as much shadow details as possible. Maybe that's why this might look overexposed, overdeveloped etc.) I don't know....
The lenses;
Like I said, I was gifted this camera with the 80, 43 & 150mm lenses. I read a lot of reviews sayin' these lenses has exellent micro-contrast. I have no idea what that is, so I'm not going to bother you with those details. Some complain with focus issues with the 150mm lens. I have no problem with mine.
My Isabella deserves better, no doubt about that. But we are slowly getting along. The goal for 2026 is a 4-5% keepers or "hit-rate". Maybe I'm reaching for the sky here.
Despite my serious "lack of bangers for likes" issues with my Mamiya 7ii, it feels like I scored the hottest "chick" at the prom, every time I load her (the camera) with film (howdy Bergger Pancro).
Thanks for reading this "not so in-depth review" of the Mamiya 7ii.
Cheers, Jonny

This is one of two marble Chinese Lions which flank the vehicle entrance to Dollar Park in Falkirk.
They were shipped to Scotland from Peking in 1924 by a rich Scots-American philanthropist Robert Dollar who had already gifted Dollar Park to the town of Falkirk in 1922.
Robert Stanley Dollar (1844-1932) was born in the village of Bainsford near Falkirk but with his family emigrated to Canada in 1857. Robert Dollar later moved to the United States with his wife and family in 1885 and in 1888 he became a naturalized American citizen.
In his lifetime Robert Dollar had been a lumber baron, shipping magnate and philanthropist.
He died on 16th May 1932 in San Rafael, California.
