A loaded UP grain train swings onto the Galveston Sub at South GH&H Junction, still protected by a searchlight signal, but not for much longer.

What is now the UP Galveston Sub was chartered by the Galveston, Houston, and Henderson in 1853. Completed between Galveston and Houston in 1859, the GH&H was the first rail connection between the two cities.
