I've been wanting to do a pyramid of cheerleaders for a while now. but i didnt want all the girls to look the same. so i waited until i had enough heads and hairstyles to make a cheerleader troupe. The group currently has 17 members. (some of them were made after girls i knew that looked like them, and did dance/cheer. LoL) a few of them, such as Megan and Erika were in "Black STEEL." Pepper, Ava, Dani, and a few others were in an unfinished, so therefore unreleased film. and then.... a couple of them spent spring break in Rio hanging out with Arthur Curry.
This was no easy task as when i stacked these girls, i didnt use the hand that fits into bottom of the foot method, anyone can do that. i balanced them that would demand what these girls were.
CHEERLEADERS.
they are acrobats that can form feats using balance, agility, and strength. the first row was obviously easy. and they had to be positioned so that they would support the full balance of the girls above them.
the second row was also simple, but the third proved to be somewhat a challenge. the girl on the left was easy, and stayed put, but the girl on the right, had to be positioned tactfully, to ensure that the last girl on top would not topple. (i appreciate cheerleaders even more now, as if these were real girls, i can almost hear them crying as they fell from the top repeatedly. yikes!)
there were two different times, where i was not satisfied with what i had. one, was the top girl was standing ontop of the other two girl's heads. balanced, but not realistic... second, i had it the way i thought i wanted, but having the top girl standing on top didnt do it for me...
finally, i decided that i wanted the two girls near the top to hold the top girl in a "leg up" position, which i liked the most.
214 tries, 26 photos, several dis-encouragers, and nearly 5 hours later.... i was able to make this balanced pyramid.
if you like it, feel free to leave a comment. TY. =]
There were two sets of hands to help this youngster up from the court floor during a YMCA basketball game. It's much like life... We are raised up with help from others around us whether they be classmates or coworkers. We also depend on God's loving hands to help pick us up when we fall.
Failure is not in the falling down but in the decision to not get up again.
May you have a blessed day!

LOLA Day 3
August 9, 2014
Well this happened yesterday. My ankle gave out and I landed on my face. My toddler came over right away and gave me and big hug and said, "mommy booboo." My Maui Jims (that I said how much I loved in my last photo) saved my face and remarkably aren't that scratched up.
Today was a challenging day, but the lows aren't as bad as they used to be. I like to explain it more as just feeling sad vs ugly crying hysterics, lol.
I learn a lot from my toddler. I just got right back up and kept going instead of feeling bad for myself and wishing that it hadn't happened. A lot of life is about getting back up, sh!t happens, but it's how you deal with it that determines who you are and helps you grow. One of my toddler's favorite song's right now is Happy by Pharrell. We watched it on repeat for at least half an hour today. I thought that these lyrics were fitting for today;
Here come bad news talking this and that, yeah,
Well, give me all you got, and don't hold it back, yeah,
Well, I should probably warn you I'll be just fine, yeah,
No offense to you, don't waste your time
Quotes for today:
*“The greatest glory in living
lies not in never falling,
but in rising every time we fall.”
― Nelson Mandela
*“Sometimes it takes a good fall to really know where you stand”
― Hayley Williams
We all reach that point when we feel like we've hit rock-bottom. Then... Get up and keep pushing!! "We lose our way, We get back up again It's never too late to get back up again, One day you will shine again, You may be knocked down, But not out forever, Lose our way, We get back up again, So get up, get up, You gonna shine again, Never too late to get back up again, You may be knocked down, But not out forever"
Do you feel empty and all burned out? Did you spend all your energy on your ( creative) project and you don't see the progress anymore? Have you given it everything you have without feeling the appreciation you desperately want?
I often have felt this. And I will probably feel it many more times. All I can do at such moments is get away and silently watch a sunset. Watching day flow into night brings me peace.
And then I go on or i try something new.
I wonder how other people cope with such feelings.
