I've always wanted to explore this beautiful and very wild river, it was a dream come true. Just me, a 12 pack of Pabst, and endless deep pools to swim in.

Taken about 1 kilometer down the river from Uisge Ban Falls Campground, on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Geoengineering night and day

A plan to reduce the severity of manmade global warming by blocking incoming sunlight would have the problematic side effect of reducing precipitation worldwide, with a particularly steep reduction in the monsoon seasons in East Asia and Africa, a new study found. The study refutes the notion put forward by some proponents of so-called “geoengineering” schemes that the Earth’s climate would simply return to its pre-industrial state if the warming that has taken place since that time were reversed.

I encountered some monks enjoying a leisurely walk on one of the bridges of Xianghu Lake near Hangzhou. As you know, I often enjoy ghosting effects, and here it made sense imo, as the atmosphere and light were quite mysterious/mystical.

Geoengineering perhaps most commonly refers to Climate engineering.

Sculpture by Jeff Koons in Palazzo Strozzi, Florence.

The exhibition is titled "Shine"

"Shine" to give a new meaning to the very concept of a work of art and question the relationship with it.

Jeff Koons is one of the most important personalities of contemporary art of the late twentieth century-early 2000s: known, among other things, for steel sculptures in which the reflection of the surrounding world takes on a new brilliance, never seen before, eternal and changing at depending on the point of view, the place, the person.

Everything happens in relationship with the viewer: this is the thought that moves Jeff Koons in creating his works. In the Shine exhibition, everything is based on a subtle game with the observer: the play of reflections and brightness continues, from room to room, through a dialogue with the works that is always different and never predictable. Being and appearing merge, merge and enhance each other.

The image above is part of the Gazing Ball series, in which the artist places a reflective blue steel ball in close contact with classic works of art.

Finally a nice trip on a beautiful autumn day in Florence, after the world seen in a digital way.

Florence was and its splendor more than ever, the museums open, the restaurants full, many tourists, magnificent shop windows, it seemed even cheaper and the Florentines more kind than usual.

A breath of fresh air for everyone it seems, before the uncertain winter.

The title came to mind at random, due to the posture of the statue and the precarious balance of the sphere. Then on google I discovered that it is the title of a book (nothing is invented anymore) -

It is also a very interesting book. In italian "Uno scomodo equilibrio" di Mario Tozzi.

Mario Tozzi is an Italian geologist, science writer, essayist, television author and TV presenter.

He is currently senior researcher at the Institute of Environmental Geology and Geoengineering of the National Research Council and deals with the geological evolution of the central-eastern Mediterranean.

"The uncomfortable balance" he talks about is related to the uncomfortable truth of having accepted temporary limitations and sacrifices only because we have seen our life in danger, but we are not yet willing to definitively change our habits to stop the destruction of the world, which it has exactly the same causes as pandemics.

So, friends, as always sweet and savory my considerations:))

Either way, let's go, and I hope you're okay.

Thanks for stopping here, a warm greeting to all

BBC News: “Planting trees doesn’t always help with climate change”. (If you want to see a perfect example of how to spin propaganda, then bore yourself to death with this pathetic article.)

“As a result, there is a delicate balance between trees’ ability to take in CO2, reducing warming, and their tendency to trap additional heat and thus create warming. This means planting trees only helps stop climate change in certain places.”

If you haven’t figured it out yet: net-zero is antihuman, and it will lead to worldwide authoritarianism. Global dimming (GeoEngineering): let’s kill life. Cow farts: let’s kill the cows. Rice is bad: let’s starve the people. Trees: they aren’t so great, they’re also part of the problem. In fact, all life is part of the problem! We must slowly destroy all life on earth to save the planet. The dystopian future never looked brighter! Book of Revelation, here we come!

As a big fan of mountains and cliffs, it would be a shame to have visited Norway and not tried to do justice to the magnificent fjords. This is my attempt.

The days on either side of this had some of the worst weather I've seen in a long time. The morning after this, myself and Greg Annandale were pretty much trapped on top of a mountain overlooking Bergen as a storm literally chased us under cover. We pretty much had the opposite problem when we toured the fjords; it was far too sunny and bright to get some decent shots. Given a tripod and a nine exposure HDR, we could have made some headway. Sadly, we had to settle for handheld HDRs from the back of a moving vessel.

I've been holding off processing a lot of Norway shots, as I wasn't too keen on some of them. Going through the archives at the weekend, I stumbled across this one and thought, with a few hours work, this could turn out quite nice. I hope it has. According to Greg, this is around the Nærøyfjorden area, a branch of the Sognefjord. Since 2005, the Nærøyfjord has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It has also been rated by the National Geographic Society as the world's number one natural heritage site along with the Geirangerfjord.

You really, really, really must view this in the lightbox to see the grandeur of this location.

Eyes to the skies my friends. The truth is out there, just not from the governments or meteorologists.

These suspiciously regular cloud patterns made for a nice backdrop. The sky looked almost computer-generated (geo-engineering).
