Noticed this rose in my garden so braved the stormy weather to get a pic, must be a throw-back to one of it's parents I suppose.

Shetlering from the weather amongst its petals are some insects !

Held on the sidelines of the WIPO Diplomatic Conference on Genetic Resources and Associated Traditional Knowledge, the event included Samba rhythms as well as a performance of traditional Amazonian shamanism rituals.

 

The Diplomatic Conference on Genetic Resources and Associated Traditional Knowledge took place in Geneva, Switzerland, from May 13-24, 2024.

i doubled the layer, made one b&w, then erased over the rose on that layer. it's kind of interesting to me.

UC San Diego bioengineers have created the first stable, fast and programmable genetic clock that reliably keeps time by the blinking of fluorescent proteins inside E. coli cells. The clock’s blink rate changes when the temperature, energy source or other environmental conditions change, a fact that could lead to new kinds of sensors that convey information about the environment through the blinking rate.

 

The researchers published their synthetic biology advance in the journal Nature­ on 29 October, 2008.
