A strange white burn morel. Very thick single wall. Unusual ridges. Very heavy. Brings luck, I think.

This is the beautiful wild fat lady that investigated our picnic; take a look at the stripes on the back above her knee, a typical wild-type genetic throwback, perhaps to a common ancestor with zebras or other ancient horses that needed camouflage.

we share many traits.
It's the coolest experience I have ever had.
genes are awesome.
Hoegra was born in the wild of Africa. It was born on March 22, 2010.
Hoegra was created when MAD SCIENTIST Crystalszzzz decided the world needed a new unique animal.
It's made up of 4 animals.

Figure 2 SDS-electrophoretogram. The electrophoretogram on the left shows the pattern of labelled polypeptides after in-organello protein synthesis by the isolated mitochondria. The bands are revealed by fluorography. On the right are shown the mitochondrial membrane proteins after AgNO 3 staining. The electrophoretic mobility of molecular weight markers is indicated on the left electrophoretogram.

One of the few documentations of this very rare variant in habitat. The result of many hours of walking through habitat and getting very lucky.
The all green variant is a result of a genetically derived absence of anthocyanin, one of the organic compounds that imparts a red or purple pigmentation to plants. The terminology of "Anthocyanin-Free" or "AF" is commonly used horticulturally to describe these variants. A very small percentage of most species of Sarracenia spp. pitcher plants have this expression. rarely are these plants observed in native habitat as they are highly valued in the horticultural trade.

Scenes from COSI's "Genetic Counseling: The Faces of Genetic Disease" interactive "Experts" videoconference program for grades 9-12.
Here, Matt Pastore, pediatric genetic counselor at The Regional Genetics Center at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, discusses with remotely-connecting high school classrooms how genetics affects all of our lives.
In pediatric genetics, children with various birth defects, delays, and/or significant family history are evaluated to determine if they have an underlying genetic cause. Genetic counseling for several common conditions will be presented, including risk assessment, genetic testing, and psychosocial counseling.

Research Experience for Teachers in Engineering and Forestry
The Sustainable Futures Institute is again hosting seven middle and high school teachers from Michigan and Wisconsin in a six-week research experience for teachers (RET) program funded by the National Science Foundation. The teachers are conducting state-of-the-art biofuels research projects in engineering and forestry in the labs of Shehkar Joshi (SFRES/Bio Sci), David Shonnard (Chem Engg), and Jeffrey Naber (MEEM).

Day 19 - RAF Wyton to Peterborough.
Major Chris Brannigan's daughter has a rare genetic disease, Cornelia de Lange Syndrome (CdLS).
Chris has embarked on a 700 mile journey from Lands' End to Edinburgh, carrying 25kg and walking BAREFOOT to raise funds for a gene therapy to change Hasti's fate.

I had the pleasure of joining Chris and his companions for the day, from Paxton to RAF Wyton in Cambridgeshire.
Please consider donating to such a worthy cause, and supporting Chris' stoic efforts.
Thank you.
Yes, I've seen Repo! The Genetic Opera three times now and am going to go a fourth before it disappears from the theaters.
But on a happy note, it might actually stick around for awhile! They've already extended it 2 more weeks here in L.A. and director Darren Lynn Bousman and creator Terrance Zdunich have actually had a VERY successful "road tour" with the film. Now they're planning to do not only a second rt, but possibly a THIRD!
I'd really love to have one here, since the road tours are more fans than just general public. I tried to organize an unofficial "singalong" at the Hollywood screening last Saturday, but in true H'wood fashion, everyone had sticks too far up their asses to sing.
For the love of Zydrate, if you live in SoCal, see this film in Pasadena! The sound is FAR superior to the Sunset 5 and the audience has a bit of life!
Don't know anything about REPO? Go check out what it's all about.
I have such a big girlie crush on Paris Hilton now. *sighs*
