You would think this wild Bighorn Sheep owned the place as he strutted across the road like a boss. Actually, I wasn't going to argue the point with him - I've seen the videos of these guys charging each other. With horns that can weight up to 30 pounds for the pair and large males that weight up to 500 pounds, they'd probably take out the front end of my car.

This was taken in Waterton Lakes National Park in June. Even here you can see the extensive damage from a previous fire. Someone who knows this area will see something amiss in the mountains. The original sky was just flat grey with no definition at all. Today my PS subscription updated itself and came out with "Generative Fill" option so I thought I'd see what it would do with the sky. I was pretty impressed with the results other than the extra mountain peak added just left of center in the background.

I don't know how others feel about using AI in photography but I think it can be interesting - provided one is honest about it so the viewer can judge it for themselves.

This scenery is completely real but it needed a focal point not just a lone road–i.e. a person, a model to represent newness. I also needed to expand my Photoshop skills for post-edits. Wallah, let me introduce you to soon-to-be Mr. and Mrs. AI. Pretty good, Adobe, but that couple does not look entirely real yet so I better keep them small.

Cherry blossoms symbolize the temporary brilliance of life and its shortness. I know. Grim. But that's life. Sorry Mr. & Mrs. AI, chances are that you'll divorce. You might have a lethal accident or if not that, you'll certainly die as your equipment degrades and stops. Or will you?

Playing around with the new generative AI in Adobe Photoshop, always loved the original version of this photo, but hated that I had cut the model's hand off. Expanded the scene just a tad, it's not perfect, but I'd say pretty good.

I really like this one (and how this whole series of images came out). I should note that the sharpness of these images was achieved with the AI model itself, and not through external editing of the images.

I think that AI image generation is similar in many ways to photography. The camera itself handles all the fine details, but the photographer is in charge of curating the types of images that will be created.

Ultimately, it is all about maximizing the probability that something good will be created.

This is very similar to AI image generation, in terms of the skills involved and what the human does vs. what the machine does.

You can't compare AI image generation to the process of actually making these images from scratch with 3D software or paint/pencils, where the human controls every detail.

However, I think the process really is very similar to that of photography, as I made the case for above. I think that DALL-E 3 is by far the most powerful AI image generation tool currently available.
