The Miles M.65 Gemini was a British twin-engined four-seat touring aircraft designed and built by Miles Aircraft at Woodley Aerodrome. It was the last Miles aircraft to be produced in quantity.

After nearly 1.5 years of arrangements, I finally managed to film inside-the-dome timelapse of the Gemini telescope propagating its adaptive optics laser. This was one of the most painful shoots that I've ever done--I lost count of the number of times we chose a date and then failed to submit paperwork on time, the Office of Mauna Kea Management failed to process the paperwork in time, the paperwork went through but the weather was bad, or everything else was ok but the laser was canceled at the last minute.
During this night, the weather was flawlessly perfect and the laser was scheduled to operate the entire night. However, after just an hour of propagation, there was a fatal error and it was canceled for the rest of the night.
I filmed timelapse video on three cameras, and this is one of the stills from a Sony A7s (thanks, Raiatea!) + my Rokinon 12mm f/2.8 fisheye. Many, many thanks to Joy Pollard at Gemini for dealing with the paperwork, arranging for me to put cameras in crazy locations, and not giving up after the first half-dozen reschedules!

Miles Gemini 1a during the Shuttleworth Vintage air show 2021 at Old Warden airfield in Bedfordshire, UK.
The Gemini was a twin engined 4 seat touring aircraft based on the single engined Miles Messenger. It went into production immediately after WWII and 170 were built.
This Gemini 1a was built in 1947 and is powered by 2 x 100 hp Blackburn Cirrus Minor 2 engines, but other versions of the Gemini had different powerplants such as Lycoming and de Havilland Gipsy Major engines.

A full super moon obscured all but the brightest meteors from this years Gemini shower. The moon was so bright that I shot at ISO 100 to keep from overexposing the photo. The meteor in the lower left 3rd of the frame happened a little after 1 am. Two lens flares are in the lower middle. Clouds moved in shortly after for the rest of the morning.
