I've been fighting with this one for waaay to long. Must have had ten different iterations. I better post it before there's nothing left.
After nesting in the nursery, Mei decides on eating a carrot, then an apple, then looks to boo but changes her mind (half eaten carrot and apple on 1st & 2nd tiers)
Today I tried to capture a water splash with my p&s. Not as easy as I thought, lol. This shot of the droplet is the best of the many shots I took and is not even a splash!
A challenge for another day me thinks.
This was an archival shot from last year....it had bokeh....today was Happy Bokeh Wednesday...so I tried to do a simple crop with sharpening, some contrast bumped up, a bit of noise reduction...increase image size....nothing too elaborate really.....IT TOOK ME NEARLY 2 HOURS. The PC kept freezing while working with this one program. I'd have to close it down and restart....after 45 minutes of doing THAT, I gave up and used a different one. That was going great....until the crop I was trying slipped and did the above...I conceded any further attempts and just left it as is, lol.
By the way....HBW! :-P
Its all work and no play for me at the moment :o( I havnt got much time for this all consuming photography addiction of mine, and I certainly dont have the time to spend hours processing images, so this is another one straight out of the camera.....couldnt sleep last night, so I jumped in the car about 3am, and decided to just drive, see where I ended up at sunrise, and this was it, a very simple little pier on the waters edge, somewhere North of Perth.....seems like I wasnt the only one who couldnt sleep :o)
She's been following me around with her little camera...so well here I am in my best serious pose...
For those of you who remember me, below is my first Flickr photo!!

A sort-of-failed effort at last week's Macro Mondays theme -- Geometric Shapes.
My idea was to capture a tiny catenary -- the shape of a hanging rope or chain. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catenary)
I found this tie tack with a little chain on it (and my initials), and propped it up with a couple of little quick-grip clamps, just to see if the catenary would look all right. I shot exactly ONE quick test photo in that moment. Then I fussed around with the setup for a solid hour, never becoming happy with any composition that I tried. Finally, as it was last-minute and I had a lot of other work to do, I gave it up.
Now, one week later, I finally downloaded this image from my camera and found that it actually doesn't look all that bad. So I am putting it here anyway, even though it's WAY too late for the group.
It's too bad, really: I didn't see a single other catenary in the group pool last week.

Well, I was afraid this day would come. Not the day that I missed a photo of the day for Project365, because I've done that before. But today is the day that I bow my head in shame of admission that I am throwing in the towel for Project365 for year 2010. Too much and too little has been going on. Hey, at least I got one year in. And what a year last year was.
i finally rid my anxiousness about my ownership over my registered domain, be21zh.org. on March 7 this year, with the aid from my Nankai Univ. alnumni in US, i got free the domain i endeared. the passing half years saw my building brick from brick on the domain, for the holy mission of rebuilding my vested land of China. however, in recent months, with improved salary in nowadays China expanding economic policy, i felt now high time to pay longer ownership over the domain, with which i reckon as my family route to reignite my kingdom in dark for hundred years. i first tried to contact the alumni in US but in vain. 2 emails resulted in silence. i then post my problem on google group, gfan, a Chinese group detonated for spreading google services, and soon 2 pals tried to help me out. i chatted with one in qq, a Chinese mainstream im, and made the deal. the guy from a Chinese web host company, rashost at www.rashost.com ,and brief me on the Internet payment as well as International payment, main via paypal. i spent almost 2 days aftermath on credit card, which likely vastly blocking most poor Chinese from its usage for the poor China social welfare/credit system, and paypal in China. i finally gaveup attempt to apply for a credit card upon its high threshold, but took a practical method, via interim agent to pay my cart acting in my title, ie, with my account confidential, with the money i remit in advance. it finished in blink, just out of our open chat window awhile. nothing can be compared with the complacence of this operation. Chinese business surely under coarse situation which led more cheats and forge, but single Chinese no doubt acting obediently for the sake of his business.
i love my domain, and the responsibility with it. i hope i can see the fruit sooner than i can see the bright future of China in remolding.
bye, all my beloved, and the surveillance. i surely live and live happily and in lengthiness. God sees.
I was stretching my lobes for over a year and hadn't gotten very far. When I tried to move to the next size it hurt like a mofo and I decided I'd rather go back to wearing regular earrings. Goodbye stretched earlobe!

I liked the graininess of some of these shots, so I left them this way instead of cleaning up the noise. I like the effect. These shots are mostly unedited, with only minor adjustments to color and contrast.
