Gatwick Airport IATA: LGW, ICAO: EGKK), also known as London Gatwick Airport, is the secondary international airport serving London, Sussex and Surrey. It is located near Crawley in West Sussex, 30 miles (48 km) south of Central London. In 2024, Gatwick was the second-busiest airport by total passenger traffic in the UK, after Heathrow Airport, and was the 10th-busiest in Europe by total passenger traffic. It covers a total area of 674 hectares (1,670 acres).

An easyJet flight lands behind the pair.

Southern 377215 stands in the platform at Gatwick, 2nd March 2023. The service was at a virtual standstill with nothing to or from the north due to a trespass fatality with yours truly stuck at a very crowded Gatwick station for an unplanned couple of hours.

I came across this old print from a visit to Gatwick back in 1989 which I now only vaguely remember. Quite an interesting view from what I recall was an open air viewing level that anyone could access!
