Finally got to do more wet-plate work yesterday.
I love the smell of ether in the morning :-)
Steve patiently posed for me with his German WW2 child's gasmask that barely fits him.
Exposure was f/8 @ 8 seconds in open shade on quarter plate aluminum shot with my 1956 Speed Graphic.

I know, I know, enough with the gas masks already...
While it may not look like it, this a political photo to me. I feel so frustrated by the direction this country is going, by the growing opinion of our "leadership" that war is a preferable solution to discussion, that sound bytes and propaganda trump honesty and understanding, by the glorification of greed and power, by the gluttonous fattening of our children and our insatiable appetites to consume and throw away. A culture of convenience is a dangerous thing.
