Chewy can't walk more than a few feet without getting stopped for pictures. This guy had some sort of sound chip on that constantly made that weird gargling noise that Chewy speaks.
blah. don't even bother tweaking... this isn't directed at anyone but myself.
if you know me, you know that sometimes I say really stupid things. and other times I say really intelligent things.
but this is obviously to those times when I say not so smart things.
reason for today's shot;
I unintentionally said something that seemed like I was calling someone stupid. In reality I did not mean it like that at all but after the fact, I suppose it came out like that.
I'm sorry. I don't think you are unintelligent what-so-ever.
((ps. I wont swallow and I won't gargle so please don't finish my photo with the phrase "swallow"))
To stay warm, you can apparently gargle whisky in your mouth for a very long time. Ice Bar, Hirafu, Niseko, Hokkaido, Japan
So many 1's in my title. Today I'm feeling a bit sick & it is no bueno. I was talking to my boyfriend earlier & he told me to either gargle hot water with vinegar & salt or drink tea. Right now I'm drinking hot tea & it's helping. Today will be an unproductive day since my system is a little weak. I hope to be better by tomorrow. I guess this is a consequence of having TOO much fun but how can you ever get enough of it?! I like being adventurous & going out! :]
No potentials for today
Sure, they're meant to be very serious gargoyle remains... but really, they're the happiest group of laughing / singing / mouth-wash gargling gargoyles ever seen!

THIS IS WHAT I RECEIVED FROM vipergtstwinturbo -- Ebay Item #130285380432.
I have never had a transaction with vipergtswinturbo before or since this one.
On Ebay, I paid vipergtstwinturbo $20 each for what he advertised as two "BRAND NEW" Dish Network Dish Pro Plus LNBFs, plus $1.99 each for shipping. This is what I received.
What you see is what I got when I opened my package of two "NEW" DP Plus LNBFs from vipergtstwinturbo.
As any Dish Network retailer, installer or technician will tell you (call 800-333-3474 for confirmation), all NEW Dish Network LNBFs are gray, as is the LNBF in the left of this photo.
Dish Network LNBFs turn green due to aging and exposure to sunlight.
The "new" LNBF which appears green is far from new.
For comparison, I have added $22 of greenbacks in the photos. If they look money-green in the photos you see, then you are seeing the actual color of the LNBFs, too.
Do you think vipergtstwinturbo sold me two "Brand New" LNBFs, as he advertised?
When I received these two LNBFs, I sent vipergtstwinturbo this message --

Imagine that. vipergtstwinturbo doesn't "take good to threats."
But he will take tnegative feedback on Ebay.
As I said, I have never dealt with this Ebay seller before or since. When I bought the items on Ebay, I paid immediately with PayPal, $43.98, and what you see here is what I got.
What I "got" was screwed and a wacky response from someone who must think Ebay buyers are suckers who pay to empty his garbage can, so read carefully the negative feedbacks this guy vipergtstwinturbo has received, and imagine all the people who didn't bother to show their disgust with this seller.

Nelson Mandela: AHerotor the oppressors, ABETRAYER FOR THE OPPRESSEDI .
The mournings &praises from the imperialists and their agents, are Mandela's "legacV'' ofbrokering one of the biggest sell outs of the 20111 centurvl .
h of December, the most flowery tributes have been showered on himEver since the death of Nelson Mandela on the 61.
.
by a wide spectrum of the ruting classes all over the world. While the face of US imperialism Barak Obama "led the world" in paying tribute to "his personal heron. his lieutenants in Britian, much of Europe, and across the world reverberated the same. The mass murderer president of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapakshe who oversaw the genocide of .
the people of Tamil Ealam also had tears to shed for Mandela. The Indian state gargled the same and declared a four .
day long state mourning. The same waves also reached our campus. From ABVP to the parliamentary pseudo-left AISA .
or SFI and their likes, several organizations vied w1th each other in presenting their laurels to their "hero". This spectrum is certainly striking. and may even confuse a few as to the real ulegacV: of Mandela. However in reality, it is precisely this unanimity of imperialists and their agents that is most revealing. Mandela's so called legacy is built upon on an illusion. the seeds of which were laid by Mandela h1mself. It is extremely important that we break this collective iconization and .
the illusion of Mandela's leaacy. .
What exactly is Mandela's legacy? The checkered political career of young Mandala began with a revolutionary vision .
to fight injustice and exploitation by white racial tyranny that was weighing heavily upon the black majority of South Africa. It is with this purpose that he joined the African National Congress in 1942 and founded the radical Youth League to wrest economic and political power from the oppressive apartheid regime that racially segregated the people of colour .
{black, coloured & Indian) from the white ruling minority. This was a regime that came with the mission to fight the ''Swart Gevaar" {the "black peril") and the program of "Die Kaffer op sy plek" {''The negro in his place"). In the face of increasing fascist repression, massacres {of the likes of the Sharpeville massacre, 1960) and the banning of several organizations to crush this black assertion, Mandala shunned the path of passive resistance. In 1961 he launched an armed struggle .
under the military organization Umkhonto we Sizwe {the spear of the nation) to overthrow the white regime. He was arrested soon after in 1963 at the age of 42 and sentenced to life in prison where he would remain for the next 28 years. The armed resistance with its revolutionary agenda however galloped through the 1970s & 80s thereby swelling the ranks of Umkhonto we Sizwe. This was despite the brutal massacres like the infamous Soweto massacre {which was the epicenter of the struggle) where close to 600 blacks were butchered by the racist regime. But alongside, this was also .
the time when the agenda of the black militants proved too radical for most of the exiled ANC moderates who not only .
were prepared for a negotiated "peace" but were also instrumental in sabotaging the struggle. During the 1980s, the to the rise of a new black.
apartheid regime offered generous loans to a handful of black businessmen leading bourgeoisie that was essentially comprador. ANC chieftains quickly moved into mansions in "golf and country estates" and were eager for ~~peace". All this whtle, the brutal apartheid regime enjoyed the support of the west (particularly US & Israel). By this time. the imperialist forces very well realized that with the rising groundswell amongst the black masses. the choice was between revolution or "reconciliation. In other words, a complete economic transformation OR a "peaceful transitiono that would leave the white property-owning minority and Western corporate's interests intact albeit with cosmetic changes. Through the long clandestine negotiations that finally led to his release, Mandela (and the moderate ANC) chose the latter. It is this betrayal of the cause for which thousands of people across Africa gave their lives which made Mandela into an "icon" that he is for the oppressors now. .
"From revolutionary to economic manager: Mandela's lesson in change". Ironically, this is not the opinion of a trenchant critic of Mandela. Rather, this is the.title of an article written in praise by a corporate media-giant. It succinctly captur~s the historic compromise of Mandela and ANC in the service of global capital. As early as 1985, years before the world would behold his release, this compromise was being scripted when a group of South African industrialists Jed by Gavin Reilly, chairman of the Anglo-American mining company, met prominent ANC officials in Zambia. Both sides agreed upon a "1ransition'' from apartheid to a "black-governed liberal democracy" with the requisite "order'' &"stability". In other words, justice was sacrificed at the altar of "free markee. Leading figures in the ANC, such as Cyril Ramaphosa, head of the National Union of Mineworkers (now a corporate giant), was already negotiating a power-sharing "deal" with the apartheid regime. Secret meetings also took place in England, at which a future president of "liberated" South Africa, .
with the heads of corporations that formed the bulwark of years of racial apartheid..
Tabo Mbeki, brokered "peace" .
Mandala meanwhile had secret negotiations with the authorities from the Pollsmoor Prison. To facilitate these .
.
negotiations, Mandela was shifted from Robben Island Prison (where he was not allowed visitors) prison and .these .
.
negotiations culminated in his final release in 1990. Soon after that in 1993, he shared the Nobel Peace Prize with his .
own jailer, the last president of the racist apartheid regime de Klerk "for their work for the peaceful termination of the .
.
m.
apartheid regime]". .

Day 15 – Tethering in LR3
(NOTE: I haven’t given up on my 365 project. In actuality I’ve been sick since Saturday night with Strep Throat, high fevers. Finally got on some medicine and am feeling a lot better now. I have actually shot photos every day for the 365 though, so no worries. Just posting them late)
I woke up this morning at 6AM feeling as if I had shards of glass going down my throat every time I swallowed. I knew it wasn’t a good sign, but I was able to get through the morning drinking a lot of Hot Green Tea with Honey and gargling salt walter. I didn’t do much today photography wise, but since my trial version of Aperture 3 had ran out over the weekend I downloaded the new Adobe Lightroom 3 Beta 2 and decided to give it a go with the 365 project being a good testing ground. It does have a cool feature (that Aperture is supposed to have, yet it didn’t seem to work on my camera) where you an tether the camera straight into LR. This is really a valuable tool when on a shoot with your laptop and a whole crew that is taking a look at the shots as they come in. It is always nice to have a huge reference vs. the back of the camera. I thought it was kind of cool that I took a photo of my screen showing an image of my camera and screen which was showing an image of my screen…. Yeah, I’m a little nerdy like that. :)
Enjoy

yeah...In Corpus Christi, the watergardens are the most cliche place to shoot photos. I should search flickr for other peoples photos! hahah!
Yep, it's time again for Phaze48's birthday, and as usual I threw him one smokin' birthday party. The theme was Star Wars, and our recruits had laser tag target practice, munitions training (thermal detonator pass, to be precise), ran an obstacle course, and even had proper light saber training--because you never know when you might have to fight a Jedi or Sith, you know. With credits earned, they could buy cool stuff, including this awesome Tatooine Sunset.
Personally, I wanted a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster, but alas, I was in the wrong universe for that. Just as well, I suppose. I was on duty, after all.
Many thanks to the best bartender in the galaxy, nvaine. :)

It wasn't that this stray cat was afraid of the camera, no. She wouldn't move a muscle let alone look in my direction without me making gargling-like dog sounds. But before I could get the shot I wanted she strolled away, bored. What an insult!
A Blackthorn shrub in the Hill Barton business park of Exeter, UK. There is also Common hawthorn, Holly, Spindle and Guelder-rose planted within these hedgerows. === Blackthorn, also known as 'sloe', is a small deciduous tree native to the UK and most of Europe. It is spiny and densely branched, mature trees can grow to a height of around 6-7m, and live for up to 100 years. The dark brown bark is smooth, and twigs form straight side shoots, which develop into thorns. The twigs are black and spiny with leaf buds along the spines. The leaves are slightly wrinkled, oval, toothed, pointed at the tip and tapered at the base. Blackthorn is a hermaphrodite, meaning both male and female reproductive parts are found in one flower. White flowers appear on short stalks before the leaves in March and April, either singularly or in pairs. Once pollinated by insects, the flowers develop into blue-black fruits measuring 1cm across. Blackthorn is native to Europe and western Asia. It can also be found in New Zealand and eastern North America. It grows best in moist, well drained soil and thrives in full sunlight. It grows naturally in scrub, copses and woodlands, but is commonly used as a hedging plant. Early flowering, blackthorn provides a valuable source of nectar and pollen for bees in spring. Its foliage is a food plant for the caterpillars of many moths, including the lackey, magpie, common emerald, small eggar, swallow-tailed and yellow-tailed. It is also used by the black and brown hairstreak butterflies. Birds nest among the dense, thorny thickets, eat caterpillars and other insects from the leaves, and feast on the berries in autumn. === The expression "sloe-eyed" for a person with dark eyes comes from the fruit, and is first attested in A. J. Wilson's 1867 novel Vashti. Blackthorn was long associated with witchcraft, and it is said that witches' wands and staffs were made using blackthorn wood. The shrub, with its savage thorns, is traditionally used in Britain and other parts of Northern Europe to make a cattle-proof hedge. The timber is hardwearing and tough, light yellow with a brown heartwood. It was traditionally used for making walking sticks and tool parts. It burns well, and is often used as firewood. Blackthorn is used as a hedging shrub, particularly in wildlife gardens. The sloes are used for wine making and preserves, and, most commonly, flavouring gin. In the British Army, blackthorn sticks are carried by commissioned officers of the Royal Irish Regiment; the tradition also occurs in Irish regiments in some Commonwealth countries. Some people apply blackthorn flower directly to the skin for rashes, “skin impurities,” and “blood purification.” In foods, blackthorn flower is used in herbal teas as a colouring agent. If in some smothering dreams you too could pace
Behind the wagon that we flung him in,
And watch the white eyes writhing in his face,
His hanging face, like a devil's sick of sin;
If you could hear, at every jolt, the blood
Come gargling from the froth-corrupted lungs,
Obscene as cancer, bitter as the cud
Of vile, incurable sores on innocent tongues,
My friend, you would not tell with such high zest
To children ardent for some desperate glory,
The old Lie;
Dulce et Decorum est
Pro Patria Mori.
