At the foot of a steep mountain slope, the charming town of Limone is built in terraces by the lake. Nestled one above the other, the houses stick to the rock, the winding alleys of the picturesque old town are adorned with flowers. Away from the hustle and bustle of tourists, in the narrow side streets or in the olive groves located higher up, it is still very quiet and romantic.

Am Fuß eines steilen Berghanges liegt terrassenförmig an den See gebaut das charmante Örtchen Limone. Übereinander geschachtelt kleben hier die Häuser am Felsen, die verwinkelten Gässchen der malerischen Altstadt sind blumengeschmückt. Abseits vom Touristentrubel, in den engen Seitengässchen oder in den höher gelegenen Olivenhainen, geht es noch immer sehr ruhig und romantisch zu.
Lake Garda, (Italian: Lago di Garda), is an important tourist area in the shadow of the Dolomite mountains in Northern Italy
At just over 50 km long it is the largest lake in Italy and at its deepest point has a depth of 350 m.
The northern part of the lake was part of Austria until the end of WW1, with the whole of the lake being Austrian territory prior to the unification Of Italy in 1870.
There are small resort towns located all around Lake Garda. The largest lake in Italy the north of the lake is narrow and surrounded by mountains and is well known for its water sports and outdoor activities. The choice is endless, sailing, kite surfing, windsurfing, mountain biking, hiking, climbing etc. The south of the lake is wider and with gentle rolling hills. The south of the lake also has a warmer climate than extreme north end of the lake which is cooled by a strong breeze which rolls off the Dolomite mountain valley above Riva in the early afternoon.
