I had intended on shooting this morning in Narragansett, but an unexpected wake up call at 2am by a certain 4 year old led to me sleeping right through sunrise. So instead, here is another shot from sunrise in 'gansett a few weeks ago.
This years Harvest Moon is seen rising over Narragansett Bay, with US Coast Guard Station Point Judith in the foreground.
After getting dinner at Iggy's on Point Judith Road in 'Gansett (a staple of Rhode Island seafood restaurants), Shan and I headed to Camp Cronin to watch the sunset. Luckily, I drive around with my camera in the car and was able to grab some nice photos of the sun setting over the beach and Point Judith Pond. While doing so, another photographer tipped me off to the impending rise of the Harvest Moon which I totally thought was the previous night thus had zero intentions of hanging around after the sun set. Good thing he said something, as I was able to get some incredible images of the Moon rising over Point Judith. So thanks, whoever you were! Unfortunately, I didn't have my tripod so these are all hand held and propped on a bench lol.

I was surprised to see a Narragansett beer truck on the Bowery in New York City. Although I knew the brand had been resurrected, I always associated it with Boston/New England. The beer - commonly referred to as "'Gansett" - had been a sponsor of Boston Red Sox games. I remember one great commercial: Two guys are sitting at a bar that is being demolished by a wrecking ball; one guy says to the other calmly, "Think I'll have another 'Gansett."

In Bristol, RI. I went in and got a 6-Pack of 'Gansett - tried one, wasn't so great, it's now made in Rochester, NY.. I wonder if it ever was good?
When the Flatbread Company moved in to Sacco's Bowl Haven, they dug up several of the lanes to make room for the bar. When they did, the construction crew unearthed tons of cans of 'gansett buried beneath the floorboards—leftovers from the original construction crew. Several of the cans now adorn the back bar, just down from the taps. Not a bad omen for one of the best bars in Somerville for local beer!

Narragansett Beer was for many years made at the brewery in Cranston, RI. The local plant was closed down in 1981, opened briefly once more later on and then it was gone, just a name for whatever company currently owned it. The brand is making a comeback in New England again but it still is not made in RI.
I do my part by drinking Gansett and displaying these neat openers and tray.
Nothing like a 16 oz Narragansett Del's Shandy on a warm New England Day (I still prefer regular Gansett, but this is something different). It has a sort of ginger ale taste.
I think the Gap antenna in the background is soaking up some good citrus & hops harmonics. The Mason jar beer mug suits me just fine.
