Bis Ende 2009 konnte man zwischen Amsterdam und Brussel die gelb-rote Beneluxzüge sehen. Wo die Lok Belgisch war, waren die Waggons Niederländisch. Die Rot/gelbe Farbe war ebenfalls eine Kombination der beiden Farben (Belgisches rot und Niederländisches gelb).
Am 15. Mai 2002 war allerdings schon zu merken, dass es immer mehr Schwierigkeiten mit der Verfügbarkeit der Waggons gab (und deswegen an 5. Stelle ein blau/gelber Waggon mit fuhr) als NMBS Lok 1188 ein Zug aus Brussel durch Delft Süd gen Amsterdam zog...
Voordat met Traxx locs naar Brussel werd gereden, reden nog Belgische locs uit de serie HLE 11 (NMBS 1180) met rijtuigen in Nederlands geel en Belgisch rood. Tot einde 2009 waren deze treinen dagelijks onderweg tussen de beide hoofdsteden, daarna namen de Traxx locs de dienst over.
Op 15 mei 2002 was reeds te merken, dat er meer en meer een tekort aan passende rijtuigen was en normale blauw/gele Nederlandse rijtuigen ingezet werden (op de foto als vijfde rijtuig). Trekkracht die dag was de NMBS 1188, de foto werd te Delft Zuid gemaakt..
The Beneluxtrain (which name wasn't actually correct because the train only ran in Belgium and the Netherlands and not in Luxemburg), hauled by a Belgian class HLE 11 engine last ran in December 2009. The colour of the train highlighted the cooperation between the two countries (Belgian red and Dutch yellow). In 2002 there were already issues with the availability of passenger cars which lead to normal Dutch passenger cars (yellow and blue) being used for these trains as well.
In the picture, taken on May 15th 2002 near Delft Zuid, one of those blue and yellow cars can be seen in the Beneluxtrain from Brussels (the fifth car)...

Dieses Mahnmal kannte ich nicht und hab es heute unvermittelt zum ersten Mal gesehen.
Das Grubenunglück mit 299 Todesopfern ist mir noch sehr präsent. Meine stärkste Kindheitserinnerung sind die Hubschrauber, die über unser Haus flogen, wenn sie Verbrennungsopfer nach Ludwigshafen in eine Spezialklinik transportierten.
