Quayside, Norwich taken from Fye Bridge with a view of Norwich cathedral. In medieval times shell fishermen unloaded their catch here and it was a busy port up until the nineteen century. With its attractive coloured buildings it is a much desired location in Norwich. The pastel blue merchants house at 8 Quayside was on the market for £750,000 in 2021.

Shame about the unfortunately positioned streetlight competing for attention with the spire of Norwich Cathedral!

The oldest known bridge site in the city - older than Bishop Bridge, albeit rebuilt in 1829 so far more modern in appearance - is a tombstone's throw from nearby Tombland and leads to Magdalen Street. There are records of this ancient bridge from 1153, when it would have been a timber structure before it was replaced with stone in the early 15th century.
