She comes every day to pick at the birdseed. She knows who I am and watches me as I do the same and watch her. There is a trust and an agreement for both of us to be friendly but not push too far. I know she is wild and she thinks that I may be too. So we sit close to each other and share some time and space for a bit of comfort and quiet in this crazy world. Her name is Mama.

A very fuzzy-fluffy-furry leaf recently "picked up" (you might as well say "stolen") with our theme "Leaf" in mind from a lush shrub of what possibly is pipevine. The vine grew at a fence in a street around the corner, and I plucked the smallest possible leaf (only 1,5 cm/ 0,59 inches long). I liked the way its edges had curled up after drying up, so I ignored the other leaves I had collected for the theme and decided to focus on getting a decent image of this leaf instead. Focus stacking worked best to bring out all the furrylicious details. The in-camera stack looked already good, but Helicon Focus (Method A, Radius 1, Smoothing 1) yielded an even better result, and this is what you see here. I hope you like it :)

I have noticed that the Squirrels have grown a lovely winter coat and even their finger and toes are now covered in fur. This is normal. They will shed the fur when it warms up in the Spring.
Neowise close-up taken on 7/26 from my backyard, which is Bortle class 6, following the shots I took from a class 4 place the day before. So much better to see it from the darker site, while from my backyard I could not tell exactly which bright spot at NW was the comet without using the LV Boost.
5km icy-rocky nucleus got more cyan in the past few days, the fine-grained dust tail seemed to be red-purple while the blue ion tail was less visible. The significant glow was most likely from the light pollution and the high humidity in the air.
7 tracked frames with 300mm (on 35mm eq), ISO 3200, f/2.8, 10 sec median stacked in PS and one frame with ISO 800 for the nucleus. Quite interesting, made me think of switching to a full frame to further play with the night sky.
In October 2022 I went to the picturesque town of Carmel on the California to attend the opening reception and artist talk at the exhibition of Bill Owens on Suburbia. On the way back I drove by a liquor store in Moss Landing, turned back, and took some handheld photos at low light with the fast vintage Dream Lens.
I processed a balanced and a paintery HDR photo from two RAW exposures, blended them selectively, carefully adjusted the color balance and curves, and desaturated the image. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.
