So sorry that I was not around much this past weekend and not able to get to all the wonderfully FANTABULOUS photos of yours! I will try to catch up some today, but, I MUST go to the grocery store and pet store to get the furkids and myself some food! :) Happy Blue Monday!!

Heidi has been on vacation with my parents for a few weeks, as I feel it is currently too hot at my place. Anyone of those morons advertising their own stupidity by not believing in climate change are welcome to spend a few nights in an apartment where the temperature doesn't drop below 30°C/85°F anymore. Houses here weren't build for these temperatures, and ACs are not common. I hope the weather will cool down on the weekend and I can get my furkid back home!
Charlie wanted to join my photo stream so here he is. Charlie is still a wonderful fur kid and it's been said of him that he is an old soul in a young body. New Zealand artist, Ivan Clark has on his portrait of Lonely Dog a description that fits Charlie well. "Small in stature, stout of heart, with impeccable manners." Well, that's our Sir Charles!

That's what I told her but she wouldn't listen, like most furkids they need to find out for themselves. I watched as I let her out, she sneezed then wanted back in. So I had to take a quick snap through the window. I'll be still going in the hot tub outside, today, I may get some cool frozen hair sculpture moments. Mind over matter running to and from ;-)
A Memphis sunset....from my archives....ahhh the end of the day, home from work, going to fix something to feed myself and need to feed the furkids....clean kitchen then hopefully to flickr! I may be making a birthday celebration angel food cake tonight...My grandfurdaughters celebrated their 4th birthdays on Dec 2 and Dec 4. Things just too hectic then to celebrate. Might have the boxers help me bake! LOL

I love this, it reminds me of the Peanuts gang. Can you tell I'm stuck inside and bored out of my mind?
Maggiemae is telling me that although we share the chair she owns 51% to my 49%, therefore she can stay.
in the summer..every nite...
after it cools down a bit...
we all go out to play a bit in the back.....
(well...i pick up tootsie rolls, they play)
i also turn the hose on ...
so it swirls the water in their kiddie pool...
& put the balls back in ......
tonite......korkor beat zoe to the red squeaker ball .....
mainly because that big blue one scared her....lol
u can hear chix in the background talkin from her room......
& every so often u can hear bella growl from frustration....she never goes in.....but gets all bent out of shape that she cant get the balls.......
LOL just couldn't resist!! Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and now trying to get a bit of rest from all the hectic activities of the past month! Cold yet sunny here today. Will need to let the furkids outside to play for a while to burn off some of their energy!! Have a super Saturday. I think I'm gonna go take a short nap LOL!

Mindee's new shades!! We were searching for a pair of polka dot ones with turquoise in them but had to go with stripes for now.
Some pretty wild looking pig tails today, Mindee!

Trying to do the black and white with shadows in the style of Ilse Bing for the 7th week challenge. I don't know how well I did, and I changed the contrast a little with Flickr edits, so here goes.
Went for a ride and walk at the Dam and lake, the kids had a nice time being out and about.
here is more about the Dam from Wikipedia...
The Coolidge Dam is a reinforced concrete multiple dome and buttress dam 31 miles (50 km) southeast of Globe, Arizona on the Gila River. Built between 1924 and 1928, the Coolidge Dam was part of the San Carlos Irrigation Project. Coolidge Dam was named after the 30th US President, Calvin Coolidge and was dedicated by President Coolidge on March 4, 1930. The design and construction engineer was Herman Neuffer, who oversaw much of the construction undertaken by the Bureau during the 1920s in Arizona and New Mexico.
Someone must have seen cats in our window and decided we would take care of a new one if they just left it. We found her crying in the bushes and very thin. We think she was about 5 weeks old, and there were no other kittens or a mama cat around. Though it wasn't in our plans, we adopted her and named her "Cloudy Gray." She even has her own lightning bolt across her face. :-)
When we took her to the vet, he said she was still too small to do blood tests on (small veins), so he gave her the first round of shots and we kept her in a room separate from the rest of the kitties. Now, she has been cleared of health issues, and the other cats are slowly adapting to her. She's about 12 weeks now, and she climbs everywhere.
She has figured out how to climb up my rocker and sit on the cushion with her paws on the frame. I saw her and grabbed my phone for a few shots. She responded when I called her name, and I love the look on her face here. The lighting wasn't the best, so I had to edit out the noise with Topaz, but I'm happy with the result.
UPDATE July 28th, 2020: At less than 2 years old, Cloudy Gray has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. I am so sad about this, especially since no vet ever told me that indoor cats could die from flea bites. Because of my own reactions to the chemicals, and thinking I was safe with them being indoors, I was not flea treating every month. I saw no fleas, so I didn't realize there was a problem. When I took her to see why she was lethargic, they showed me her white lips (which I had seen but didn't understand) and said she was extremely anemic. We couldn't afford a transfusion and had to make a decision right then and there. She was already not eating or drinking, and she was in pain when we picked her up, so we decided to let her go. 😿
SAD news at my place: Our beautiful cat Aurora passed away early morn of Sept. 17th. She was 14+ years of age. Now survived by her loving sister Midnight and human mom and dad. Surely will greatly miss her company.
I made this early in the day as a method of coping with the grief of waking up to my beloved kitty being gone. Creativity is great therapy even if the app didn't want to share it here from the SD card.
Anyway, his full name was Li'l Bit of Midnight because his daddy (who we lost a few years ago) was Midnight. He would've been 19 years old in May, and this is the first time my home has been totally cat free in over 20 years.
It's bittersweet because he was curled up sleeping on his "throne" where I built him an abundance of cushioning every night using pillows and his favorite blanket stacked up in my recliner. Yes, since he was the last of 9, he was spoiled.
He was so peaceful looking that I started petting him like usual as I walked by the chair. And we had just "talked" before I went to bed. This furbaby actually knew how to say "I love you," when he was in a caterwauling mood. I wished I had known time was so short and gotten some recordings and more pictures of him.
This picture was taken by cellphone on November 9th, 2022, and I used the "Background Eraser" app for Android to change to the heart bokeh. That took away the EXIF and made the kitty not look as good, but the point comes across.
I get my "This Day in Photos" images from a few sources, and this is one that came up for this day in 2014. Sitting up all big and proud is my "Rainbow Bridge" kitty, Sunny Delight aka Sunny D. On the paw-print rug is my Dusky girl. And, yes, both of them are also on the shower curtain my sister-in-law made for us. It's our way of always having our 8 kitties no matter who crosses that bridge.
The day I took these, I walked into the bathroom and saw Sunny D under the curtain where Dusky is at. I thought it was so funny to see the cat under a curtain with him and my other kitty's on it, plus looking like he's following the paw-print road at the same time. By the time I got back with a camera, D-Boy had jumped up on the toilet, and Dusky was underneath the curtain. I love this celebration of my furbabies.
Happy Valentine's Day!
I so love this girl! With the terrible time I had last week it was a comfort having her with me all the time. I love all my furkids but she is just my heart dog. I've always loved how her chest makes a heart shape because of the coat on her chest, I thought I would try to use that in this weeks picture. I had a few of her with her ears at attention but i just loved the vulnerable expression in this. Again I played in Lightroom/Photoshop, I hope the processing isn't too much. =)
Thank you all so much for the kind words on last weeks photo, it means a lot.
