Monday was a public holiday here and I spent some time at Monrepos. I went there early as sunny weather on weekends and holidays usually means that the place gets quite crowded. The plan worked and I was able to take some photos of birds and squirrels which would been impossible later during the day. This is a typical Monrepos squirrel, quite well fed. Lots of people make sure that the feeders are always filled. :)
A gosling with some spunk.. He came right up to me...Dad wasn't so happy about that! Baby....got to be... HCS
Sprocket, being her usual camera-shy self while trying to capture her eyes. For this needle-averse person, getting my two COVID-19 jabs, the second received today before I got to work photographing the furballs, was a breeze compared to capturing this challenging shot.
We had some sunshine today and although it wasn't really warm it was nice in the sunhine. Tofu was happy to enjoy outdoor time without either being soaked or being frozen to the bone. :)
It's moulting season for Ella, highlighted here by the strong backlight from the window behind her. Cue 'tumbleweeds' of fur to vacuum up on a regular basis!
This was a quick snap just before our morning walk. Decided to take the Helios 44 and wanted to check everything was working OK after it fell apart on me last time out. Quite happy with the way it turned out - just a bit different from a 'standard' portrait, in a good way I think. Going for a real Black & White look here - maybe a bit underexposed but that's what I was going for, so there it is :-)
After picking up three car's at Perryville Rd in Cherry Valley, IL. The Freeport local GT 4927 makes it way back to down town Rockford so it can run around and hook the other end for the trip back to Freeport, IL
found this photo in my Google photos. Took this photo 2 years ago. Thank you Google photos for keeping it. Too cute to pass up.
Please view large to view that cute tongue :)

Handheld with "fossilized" m4/3 setup.
RAW developed via new "Olympus Workspace" which gave us some new tools while removing one I use a lot. I prefer native RAW developer for color fidelity.
Hope Olympus will bring out a lightweight 100-400mm zoom with sync IS soon.
1/250s at ISO2,000 and +0.7EV in shot, lens at full extension.
Re-edited 8Jun2022, getting better at making the subject stand out from the background.
With a whopping 1 car for the East Belt, L561 speeds east along the Freeport Sub as some late December snow rolls in.
Last mothers day I posted a photo of 3 newborn kittens. I thought I would give a small update on they're progress. This is Yoda he was the last born and what a character he is. He is a male with the longest fur I've ever seen on a cat. His fur actually grows in two levels, The first is closer to his body and the second is a very thin Aura type fur that is 2 inches longer than his body fur. We named him Yoda because when he was bottle feeding his little ears would wiggle. :) I was really bored yesterday and was watching them hunt each other in the overgrown grass in my backyard. I have let the grass over grow because these 2 just love playing in it, hunting flies and each other, that I don't have the heart to cut it, they have so much fun in it. :) I liked this shot because I can see myself in his eye. Is that vanity or just the fact that I managed to get his eye in focus for the first time. :)
Please leave a comment if you like this photo and thank you for taking the time to take a look at my photos and as always, your views, comments, faves, and support are greatly appreciated!! Have a great day everyone :)
My Selma.
Being in summer mode, she rarely shows up. But sometimes, when the weather is bad, it might be cosy to cuddle with dad in his bed.
mushrooms don't belong to the flora or fauna group but this fuzzy one looks more like an animal than a plant to me, don't you agree?
"Razor two, in left. Bandsaw, bogey-dope."
"Bandsaw, furball bullseye one-nine-zero, thirty-one, Razor one merged single, west arm!"
"Razor two, tally two, my nose four."
"Razor one, defensive...descending, flaring!"
"Razor two, Fox-two trailer, west arm, Fulcrum!"
I finally finished my forced perspective entry for the Military Group contest! I was worried I wouldn't make the deadline. I'm pretty sure I've never put in so much work for a single photograph.
I'll post a couple behind the scenes shots in a day or two. the background and cockpit won't stay built too long, so if you've got a request to see something, say so soon.
For anyone who's interested, the cockpit is somewhere around 1/2 scale (maybe a little smaller) and the F-15E and MiG-29 models are 1/100 scale (approx the same scale as my AWACS.)
The background is tilted slightly. I wanted it to look like our aircraft was turning, but I don't think I added enough of a slant to make it show very well. And I know it looks like he's aiming more at the other Eagle than the MiG. Unfortunately I placed the connection points before I figured out that's how it would turn out in the final frame. So, um, the pilot's still lining up his shot.
The flares are a couple of Exoforce fiber optic tubes with Lego light bricks on the far end. They worked out better than I expected - I love the lens flare I got with them. :D
Incidentally, with the exception of the HUD display photoshopped in, there's not a single non-Lego object in this photo
Leo the Pekingese. Leo loves walks and running in the park. Whenever he sees me he comes charging over, jumps on me and gives a doggie greeting like only dogs can. He then roles over for his tummy tickle.

My boy is such a poser. Funny what works for a photo sometimes -- I actually took this in my kitchen! Zeph was sitting on the table, I was on the floor looking up at him, and the evening light coming through the sliding door behind me hit him just right.
