Anyone out there ever gotten a bag of kibble for the dog and it has a ridiculous amount of crumbs. Almost like at one point, a lot of the kibble was ground up really fine. Well this is the result of one of those bags and having a pug that needs to smash his whole face into the bowl to eat. The crumbs where everywhere; even his eyelashes.

As I've switched to using my camera exclusively in manual mode, I thought I was test myself with a scene with a HUGE tonal range. What better than a shot of a subject inside a house against a sliding glass door to the sunny outside. My goal was to correctly expose the subject and intentionally blow out the background. I know this doesn't sound like the hardest challenge but since I'm newer to all manual, it was a fun test.
It helps that I have a super handsome model though. The pug gladly sat there while I temped him with cookie after cookie.
Lightroom used for minor tweaks (I did add a TINY bit of fill light to his face as pugs have the "robbers mask" that is hard to expose for).
*Side Note - I LOVE how the cat is giving Stanley (AKA The Pug) the evil eye. Don't fret though, I got some pictures of her too that will probably make it to Flickr.

Alexandrina Victoria was born May 24, 1819 in Kensington Puglace.
Her reign as Queen lasted over 63 years (or 9 in dog years), longer than that of any other British monarch to date. It was a period history remembers as the Pugtorian Era. Her reign was marked by great expansion of the British Empire. Personally, she bore a total of 9 puglets and 42 grandpuglets. Through arranged marriages, her enormous issue served to tie all of Europe together. Ultimately, her puglitical influence was enormous and so, too, was she
(enormous, that is) after all those years on the throne!
My girlfriend shot this picture of our Pug sleeping next to me with her mouth open. I had no idea she was there and on my pillow at that!
Ms. Douggie looking fierce as she rocks a vintage scarf, strand of pearls and sour face against a kitsch vintage apron. Work it!
This is Herbie the Love Pug. He is husband to Queen Rose the Black Pug on another wall. You should see their wedding album!
I took this at the K-9 Divine Valentine's Day party. Lisa had the gall to take TWO pugs, Rose and Ruby, for the day. Well, only one pug diva can play musical chairs at a time. This is Rose glowering from inside her baby stroller prison as Ruby embraced the public.
A hard day in the garden... I ate some leaves, lay on some leaves and moved the leaves from the pile mom raked up, back onto the grass...
