I love how these challenges make me attempt subjects that I normally wouldn’t draw. I do dislike working with a reference photo so my images are always going to a looser rendition that the typical entry. I hope you like it. Thanks for viewing!

My son, Max, celebrating his second birthday :-) He loved his homemade funfetti birthday donuts so much he didn't want to go to bed without them (so he "claimed" one lol).

During my visit to Plymouth, Massachusetts, I came across "Cupcake Charlie's" and thought that any shop or bakery that devotes itself to selling cupcakes, and only cupcakes... must have some damn good cupcakes. Needless to say that i had to make it a point to go there and find out for myself.
Inside i was overwhelmed by the different varieties that i had never even seen, nor heard of before. To my surprise, the prices weren't too bad, they averaged from about $2.75 - $5.00, depending on the cupcake flavor and what it consisted of. To keep things interesting, every day Cupcake Charlie’s features 18 flavors of cupcakes from a book of 50 of their own recipes. Trying to make a decision on flavor to try was not easy, but i decided to stick with my favorite kind of cake (aside from ice cream cake), Funfetti.
At first, i had no idea how to go about eating this unusually large cupcake. I attacked from the bottom up, and i ate the base, below the "muffin top", and then worked on the sides. I was hoping by doing that, i would be able to fit the "muffin top" of the cupcake into my mouth along the icing, so i wouldn't have to eat the icing entirely separate from the funfetti cake part. Unfortunately, my attack plan left me a giant sugar-filled bite or two, consisting of only frosting to finish off the cupcake. It was delicious, but the part that would probably keep me from buying another was the last two bites of straight frosting made every tooth in my mouth cringe.
The only thing i did not like, was that the icing was stacked up so high and centered on top of the cupcake, and not so much spread out to the sides. It was nearly impossible to get a few bites that contained both frosting, AND funfetti cake.
Other than that, i'd say it's something worth trying at least once if you're ever in the area.

I was going to my cousin's son's birthday party. He's three by the way. So it was really weird for parents when I was talking picutres of three year olds.
The cupcake was delicious, though.
So, first time making gumpaste roses for a cake...I've made plenty of flowers in the past, but never used them on a cake...I'm not the greatest at arranging, but for a first time out, I guess it's okay...
Bottom (12 inch) tier is a dummy, middle (9 inch) is strawberry cake with funfetti frosting and top (6 inch) is chocolate on chocolate...
There was also a groom's cake that went with- Steelers Football Cake, but didn't get a chance to take a pic...my cousin shot the wedding, so I'm hoping she gets one for me.

I've had a rough few days, so my wonderful husband made me Funfetti cupcakes to make life a bit more bearable... since, you know, the sprinkles are made out of happiness.

For this months birthday card I created this scene of some sweet kitties baking up a delicious funfetti cake for a birthday party.😻
A funfetti cake, white chocolate ganache drips and cake pop ice cream in a waffle cone. With a custom mix of sprinkles to finish!
An egg and nut free (but sinfully rich-tasting) vanilla cupcake recipe gets doctored up with Halloween nonpareils before baking up. A jaundice-yellow frosting with a coloured chocolate iris and gel icing blood get everything into the spirit!
