The 'Duke of Lancaster' was built in 1956 at Harland & Wolff - the yard that built the 'Titanic'. She operated as an England/Ireland ferry and as a cruise ship. When she retired in 1979 she was brought here to start a new life as the Fun Ship. She was fitted out with arcades and amusements, but ongoing battles with the local council have meant she has now stood idle for many years.
Sometimes I wonder if we should go back to when a video game lobby had people standing in it. I love tech and the Internet is such a wonderful tool. I just wish we weren't trying harder than ever to make it terrible.
There's something to be said for walking into an arcade and just having fun. Leave your worries at the door and drop into a world where the tech is all fun and doesn't try to sell your soul to the highest bidder.

Christmas Day is one of a child's favorite days of the year. Here is a boy who was obviously delighting in learning ice skating with his mom on Christmas morning at an outdoor skating rink. His laughter and smile tells the story of joy and love, two ingredients of the holiday spirit.
