I toss out peanuts for the squirrels I guess this one thought it was gold since that was all it could find, either that or it’s break time.

I just made that up..:) This is a debris pile up after some high water and than someone put the face and eyes on it with rock..;) Than I ran it through Topaz and finished it off.

Val di Funes est une station de montagne, une commune italienne située dans la région du Trentin Haut Adige, avec en toile de fond les sommets des Dolomites.
La vallée s'étend sur environ 28 km jusqu'au groupe Odle, qui pour sa beauté a été nommé par l'UNESCO comme site du patrimoine mondial, avec le parc naturel Puez-Odle.
The Val di Funes is a scenic valley on the edge of the dolomites in north-east Italy, to the east of Brixen and north of Lake Garda. As reward for its extraordinary natural beauty, the dolomites are now listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

This family photo was taken in front of a large mirrored wall in the National Military Museum in Soest. Because we stood in front of the outside window, you get a picture with beautiful silhouettes. It's not a perfect photo, but the spontaneity of the photo makes it.
Ever since I wandered around the Danish island of Mandø a few years ago (www.flickr.com/photos/115540984@N02/53773398259/in/datepo...), I've developed a bit of a crush on oystercatchers.
When they took to the air in groups of about 20, you could hear them from the other side of the island, and they were always happy to greet you if you got too close to their young.
This year in Norway, they were permanent beach residents again, and as the year progressed, there were more and more youngsters around. They are incredibly cute in their own right, and they receive loving care from their parents, who are constantly on guard, but also help the chicks prepare their food during the first few days. They then open the yellow seaweed with its balls and offer it to their young. The young are very eager to learn and often watch what mom and dad are doing, not shy about pouncing on anything edible.
The photo here may be a courtship display, and it shows their enthusiastic calls. I always found it very amusing.
