Nothing more fulfilling, relaxing, rejuvenating and humbling than being in the mountains !
This is at the Himalayan town of Manali.
We friends, went to this valley for some adventure sports, but sadly the rain gods had their own games to play !
But nonetheless, the rains always add to the beauty of any time and place and these were the mountains :)
My hope was fulfilled. A morning with fog over Tuscany
A wonderful experience and worth getting up at sunrise,
Wishing you a happy and wish fulfilling New Year!

I moved here a few days ago. Now the distance to the office is much longer than it was earlier... But it doesn't matter.
Next week is hot, officially +32C and even +35C. I love hot weather, it's perfect for me. Finally I can swim a lot in the lake: in the morning before work, in the lunch time, in the evening and even in the night! I love swimming in the night, that's amazing! 😍 What could be better!
It's also hot weather today. Time to swim and relax on the beach 😊
This summer, we fulfilled a big wish of mine: Returning to Helgoland, the island of the Northern Gannets. These birds are so impressing and beautiful, majestic and fascinating - I could watch them for weeks. Every year, they build a breeding colony at the cliffs and allows the people to watch them raising their chicks.

We have fulfilled a long-cherished wish and made a trip to Namibia. A unforgettable experience on these Africa trips are game drives in the savannah. In the evening it is particularly exciting - you can get a rhino in front of the lens - and the incomparable African sunset with the typical acacia trees.
Due to my health condition, I am unable to hold or stabilize a camera for extended periods of time. Additionally, using a tripod has never been enjoyable for me, as it would cause pain when trying to position it correctly and constantly bending over to check the viewfinder. Consequently, I have chosen to explore digital AI artwork as an alternative. I understand that this may not be everyone's cup of tea, as it diverges from traditional photography. However, I have always granted myself the freedom to exercise artistic license and pursue whatever brings me joy. Currently, digital AI artwork fulfills that purpose, at least for the time being.

Taken at Lana (Now Closed)
This is no ordinary fairytale but let's start this with... Once upon a time there was a princess from a kingdom far far far away. She was the princess of the sun. Her presence brightened the land, uplifted her people and brought abundant of joy. Her smile always warmed the hearts and melted souls. It was part of her routine to walk around her kingdom, checking on her people and ensure their every need was fulfilled.
One day, on her morning walk, she was tricked by a jester to take a twisted path into a dark forest. Despite the darkness, everywhere she stepped illuminated and she appeared non bothered by the difference of her surroundings.
"How can she still be smiling?" said the jester, quite annoyed observing her.
She continued walking as if she knew where she was going and this tired the Jesters's energy until the illusion of the darkness couldn't be kept up.
"Finally." she grinned to herself, reaching her destination. The field of white sunflowers that were so rare.
"I don't understand, how did you break my spell?" asked the Jester.
"I didn't do anything. You did that all by yourself by allowing hatred, harm and deceit to consume your heart."
"Impossible, all others before you have gone mad and insane."
"It's simple. Just because I couldn't see the sun, it doesn't mean he wasn't watching over me. I could still feel his warmth and that's what I followed." She explained, "I will not allow darkness to consume me, there will always be light in the end of the tunnel." She winked before collecting some flowers, offering one to the obviously annoyed Jester before heading back to her kingdom.
"Blah blah blah!" Exclaimed the Jester, eating the flower angrily in obvious defeat.
P.S. I brought a new friend to Lana and she looked gorgeous in that dress I couldn't help snapping a picture. I also decided some days ago that Lana will close on 20th February, 2022. So please feel free to visit, take some last minute photos and enjoy my little gloomy creation.

It's exciting and fulfilling to walk on new lanes and virgin paths. Contemporary it can be very exhausting and even dangerous too. Thats why its not only making sense but sometimes its even necessary following trails others left behind for us. When we do this, we have to be cautious and keep two things in mind (at least two). For one thing, we need to be attentive, where these trails are guiding us too. We need to look up again and again asking ourselves if we wanted to get here and if its good for ourselves to be here. If its not like this, we need to realign, change the direction and leave the trail. For the second thing, we need to make sure that we don't follow our own footprints because in that case, we are going in circles and will never reach somewhere.

About Corfe Castle
Corfe Castle is a stunning 11th century castle in Dorset, that has fulfilled a number of roles throughout its thousand-year history – from royal residence to military stronghold. Today Corfe Castle provides an atmospheric look into Britain’s medieval past, with its picturesque views and imposing structure attracting visitors from far and wide.
Corfe Castle history
The current incarnation of Corfe Castle was built by William the Conqueror in around 1066, although even before this the site was of great historical importance. Legend tells that when a Saxon hall stood on the site, the young Edward the Martyr was murdered there in 978 during a plot to position his half-brother Ethelred ‘the Unready’ as monarch. Edward was later canonised, with his feast day falling on the anniversary of his death – 18 March.
Following its construction as a medieval fortress, Corfe Castle would be expanded and altered over the coming centuries, especially in the 12th century by Edward I who built the imposing keep, and in the 13th century under King John. Not only did John further fortify the castle, he also used it as a prison and royal residence. Sold by Elizabeth I in 1572, Corfe Castle became a grand private home, first to Sir Christopher Hatton and later by Sir John Bankes in 1635.
The demise of Corfe Castle and the cause of its current ruined state came with the English Civil War. Having survived one siege in 1643, it would fall to another only 3 years later, before being slighted – or intentionally damaged – by the Parliamentarians. Its ruins were eventually handed back to the Bankes family, who retained it for 350 years before in 1982 gifting it to the National Trust.
Corfe Castle today
Today, Corfe Castle remains under the remit of the National Trust and is open to the public. Its romantic ruins sit high atop a natural ‘motte’, with many of its original features still well preserved. The castle’s towering 12th century keep may be explored, while a number of its gatehouses remain in good condition and allow visitors to walk through centuries of history.
Corfe Castle’s role as a military stronghold is also echoed in many of its hidden features – murder holes, fallen walls, and arrow loops to name a few. Stunning views of the village below may too be enjoyed from the castle’s elevated position, as well as the picturesque Purbeck Hills that surround it.
Due to my health condition, I am unable to hold or stabilize a camera for extended periods of time. Wishing all contacts and lurkers a fulfilling Thanksgiving.
I share the last photo I took in West Virginia last month. 810 has backed down the Cub Creek branch to Cub Creek Jct where they connect up with the old Virginian Guyandotte River Line.
You can see the large bridge just behind 810s motive power which carries this rebuilt stretch of the branch over the old alignment of the Guyandotte River "mainline". The R.D. Bailey Dam construction in the late 1960s necessitated a good chunk of the mainline being altered and pushed to a separate route to the south via Hanover, WV. The original Cub Creek Jct was located 3 miles to the west of the current junction. Referencing aerial photos from decades ago, the original Cub Creek Jct is now completely underwater.

Reason, Season, or Lifetime
People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime.
When you figure out which one it is,
you will know what to do for each person.
When someone is in your life for a REASON,
it is usually to meet a need you have expressed.
They have come to assist you through a difficulty;
to provide you with guidance and support;
to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually.
They may seem like a godsend, and they are.
They are there for the reason you need them to be.
Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time,
this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end.
Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.
What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled; their work is done.
The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.
Some people come into your life for a SEASON,
because your turn has come to share, grow or learn.
They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh.
They may teach you something you have never done.
They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy.
Believe it. It is real. But only for a season.
LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons;
things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation.
Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person,
and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life.
It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

"So was fulfilled what was spoken through the prophet: 'I will open my mouth in parables, I will utter things hidden since the creation of the world.'" - Matthew 13:35.
How do words, images and even music come together? How do our senses join in creating an inner symphony that has meaning and instills a sense of the mystery of our world?
The words quoted above come from the mouth of Jesus. I'm not sure we can ever fully understand this mysterious person. The one thing I'm convinced of is that Jesus, also known as Christos ("The Christ" or "Anointed One") is a universal and archetypal figure. Contrary to most views he was not particularly concerned with religion, and most certainly never intended to start a new one. So please don't read this as another religious message or an attempt to convert you to my views.
In truth, those things hidden from the foundation of the world are revealed to us as we need them, as we open our hearts to the inner longing that is often best understood non-verbally when we listen to music like that of Ludovico Einaudi. My own view has always been that music is the pure pathway to the soul. The true mystery of life is never understood by the head (reason), but through the heart (love). And I believe that images work on us in the same way as music.
Somehow as I listen to the music of modern minimalistic composers, I can feel this pulse that takes me right back to the foundation of the world - the origin of light and word (logos). You can feel it in the work of composers as varied as John Taverner, Arvo Pärt, John Adams, Max Richter, Ludovico Einaudi. You can hear it in Phillip Glass too, although he is more incessant in expressing that pulse.
But in this case image and music come together in Ludovico Einaudi's "L'Origine Nascosta" ("The Hidden Origin"):

Jesus loved the beach. There's a gorgeous beach scene in what I consider to be the greatest film on the life of Jesus, Pier Paolo Pasolini's "The Gospel According to St Matthew" (1964). www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ewzr-ioQ_9k Pasolini was not religious, but I think he understood Jesus comprehensively for that very reason - he didn't bring any baggage to the making of the film.
Pasolini shows Jesus meeting his first followers on the beach at the Sea of Galilee. And there an inner light shone to such an extent that a group of fishermen left their nets and followed Jesus to the end.

Love - a poem by Khalil Gibran
Then said Almitra, "Speak to us of Love."
And he raised his head and looked upon the people, and there fell a stillness upon them.
And with a great voice he said:
When love beckons to you, follow him,
Though his ways are hard and steep.
And when his wings enfold you yield to him,
Though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you.
And when he speaks to you believe in him,
Though his voice may shatter your dreams
as the north wind lays waste the garden.
For even as love crowns you so shall he crucify you. Even as he is for your growth so is he for your pruning.
Even as he ascends to your height and caresses your tenderest branches that quiver in the sun,
So shall he descend to your roots and shake them in their clinging to the earth.
Like sheaves of corn he gathers you unto himself.
He threshes you to make you naked.
He sifts you to free you from your husks.
He grinds you to whiteness.
He kneads you until you are pliant;
And then he assigns you to his sacred fire, that you may become sacred bread for God's sacred feast.
All these things shall love do unto you that you may know the secrets of your heart, and in that knowledge become a fragment of Life's heart.
But if in your fear you would seek only love's peace and love's pleasure,
Then it is better for you that you cover your nakedness and pass out of love's threshing-floor,
Into the seasonless world where you shall laugh, but not all of your laughter, and weep, but not all of your tears.
Love gives naught but itself and takes naught but from itself.
Love possesses not nor would it be possessed;
For love is sufficient unto love.
When you love you should not say, "God is in my heart," but rather, "I am in the heart of God."
And think not you can direct the course of love, for love, if it finds you worthy, directs your course.
Love has no other desire but to fulfill itself.
But if you love and must needs have desires, let these be your desires:
To melt and be like a running brook that sings its melody to the night.
To know the pain of too much tenderness.
To be wounded by your own understanding of love;
And to bleed willingly and joyfully.
To wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving;
To rest at the noon hour and meditate love's ecstasy;
To return home at eventide with gratitude;
And then to sleep with a prayer for the beloved in your heart and a song of praise upon your lips.
However, we must always be logical in our critical estimates; most of photography is not intended as art and should not be judged as such. But if art is intended, compromise must not be tolerated :-)

________________________________________________
Walking along the Bosphorus shore in Üsküdar holds a nearly magical surprise: the Maiden’s Tower. Its origins are shrouded in legend. The most famous tells of an emperor who, fearing a prophecy that his daughter would die from a snake bite on her 18th birthday, locked her in this tower in the sea. But fate was cleverer: a snake hidden in a basket of fruit fulfilled the oracle’s words.
It’s the ancient theme of fate’s inevitability, found across cultures. From Oedipus to Macbeth, from Persian legends to fairy tales—yes, even Sleeping Beauty, doomed from birth by an unbreakable curse—stories remind us that destiny, once spoken, tends to find its way.
The tower has also been mistakenly linked to the myth of Hero and Leander, though that story belongs to the Dardanelles, not the Bosphorus. Whatever its true story, this tower casts a spell—especially at dusk, glowing in the middle of the strait. It’s always enchanted me. That day, the muses walked beside me and gifted me this photo—one of those you keep in the best pages of your album.
When one adopts the practice by means of which one's mind, which is restless like the wind, is made still, perpetually, then the purpose of taking birth as a human being is fulfilled.
"Fulfill me, make me happy, make me feel safe, tell me who I am. The world cannot
give you those things, and when you no longer have such expectations, all self-created
suffering comes to an end."
Eckhart Tolle

almost 2 years ago when I started the idea of Toki-Doki I really wanted to build a shop all by myself but I did not have the skills (and still don't really) to make everything. So I dreamed that one day I will make my own shop and everything in it!
Today Toki-Doki has changed to its new build and it feels like I am closer to making it all come true :)
please pardon the mess and all the out of place items you will find, I promise it will all be ready for the birthday celebrations next week :)
P.S. some things are still in dire need of re-texture
A special thanks to all the wonderful, creative, lovely and kind friends who have helped me in this journey. <3 I love you.
Narnia’ trail was opened in Banstead Woods and Chipstead Downs Nature Reserve on 22 June 2017.
Visitors can meet Aslan the Lion, spot Lucy Pevensey waiting by the lamppost and even walk through the wardrobe entrance to Narnia, complete with hanging coats. Carved posts depicting the site's special flora an fauna mark out the route.
The figures have been carved from standing deadwood by talented chainsaw sculptor Ella from The Tree Pirates, making use of the site’s own existing natural resources.
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is a fantasy novel for children by C. S. Lewis, published by Geoffrey Bles in 1950. It is the first published and best known of seven novels in The Chronicles of Narnia (1950–1956).
Most of the novel is set in Narnia, a land of talking animals and mythical creatures that is ruled by the evil White Witch. In the frame story, four English children are relocated to a large, old country house following a wartime evacuation. The youngest, Lucy, visits Narnia three times via the magic of a wardrobe in a spare room. Lucy's three siblings are with her on her third visit to Narnia. In Narnia, the siblings seem fit to fulfill an old prophecy and find themselves adventuring to save Narnia and their own lives. The lion Aslan gives his life to save one of the children; he later rises from the dead, vanquishes the White Witch, and crowns the children Kings and Queens of Narnia.- From Wikipedia
