Denominación: Leones de Fu, Leones de Buda o Perros de Fu.
Son poderosos animales míticos que tienen su origen en la tradición budista (los chinos emplean el término 'Fo' para referirse a Buda) y están bastante difundidos en Oriente.
Se les asocia con la defensa de la ley (la vigilancia, el juego limpio y la defensa del débil) y la protección de los edificios sagrados; así, se los suele encontrar en los umbrales de templos budistas, palacios y tumbas imperiales, en todos los edificios de gobierno desde la Dinastía Han hasta el final del imperio.
Por lo general, se muestran en parejas y con una o ambas patas delanteras apoyadas sobre una esfera. Sus ojos están siempre abiertos con una fiera mirada que pretende transmitir la protección contra malos espíritus que quieran violar la tranquilidad del lugar.
Las parejas de leones Fu suelen encontrarse sexuados. En la pareja que guarda la entrada de un recinto diferenciaremos al ejemplar hembra del macho porque este sostiene un orbe bajo su zarpa, mientras aquella una cría. Cada uno de ellos posee distintos poderes y atributos.

Il Palazzo fu costruito tra il 1663 e il 1665 per Giovanni Battista Beggiamo, su disegno attribuito ad Amedeo di Castellamonte. Della complessa vicenda architettonica e decorativa permangono i segni nell'atrio e nella struttura del portico-loggiato. Interessanti gli interventi del 1884 di gusto storicista voluti dal Banco di Sconto e Sete che, oltre allo zoccolo in pietra della facciata e alla balaustra del balcone, fece erigere in forme neobarocche i portici-loggiati laterali. I bombardamenti dell'ultimo conflitto causarono la perdita decorativa di quasi tutte le sale del primo piano e in particolare del salone centrale dipinto nel 1694 del Legnanino. Il Palazzo è oggi sede del Consiglio Regionale del Piemonte.

I'm a little bit of a purist when it comes to Dogwood. I really love the white native Dogwood. But these pink dogwood took off and became the popular tree to have and so at some time years ago I caved and planted a pink dogwood. I've always considered it a "faux" dogwood, not the real thing.
I was amazed to see gliding behavior in spiders. I know some tropical spiders can fly without using silk. However, here is in Canada where you may find things exotic but tropical.
This daredevil spider seemed to steer itself through the air with movements of its outstretched forelegs. I guess it’s an unexpected Kung Fu for spiders, which have no history of either flight or wings.
