After our recent cold snap, I headed out to a nearby waterfall (Hayward Falls, Mission, B.C.) and was pleasantly surprised at what I found.

Incredibly this is not Photoshop trickery or infrared, this is the result of freezing fog (hoarfrost) yesterday morning!

An absolute joy to see this with all the tree turning white without snow or frost on the ground, I couldn't believe my luck when I stumbled across this stunning tree!

This road connects two parts of a small town Oberalm in Federal Republic of Salzburg in Austria that are divided by an Autobahn. Yeah behind this frozen forest is The Tauern Highway.

In Oberalm there are mayor green areas and park on the left is one of them, right at the border with the next town Puch bei Hallein.

The sun had just set, giving the snow-covered mountains a reddish glow... What a gorgeous sight I had here! Mt. Volandstind is reflected in the fjord of Fredvang and reminds me a bit of the Matterhorn, maybe as a little brother ;-)). This mountain here is just 457 m high and should be easy to hike from the back side. This was another great impression of the Lofoten Islands which will always remain in my fondest memory.

One of the coldest day so far this winter.
