Die Auberginen-Scheiben werden in heißem Öl gebraten. Dabei muss sorgfältig entfettet werden, da Auberginen viel Fett aufsaugen. Häufig werden Auberginen auch gegrillt. Dazu können einerseits Scheiben, andererseits auch die ganze Frucht mit Schale verwendet werden.

The eggplant slices are fried in hot oil. It must be carefully degreased, as aubergines absorb a lot of fat. Aubergines are often grilled. Slices can be used for this, but the whole fruit with peel can also be used.

Growing up, shrimp and french fries was my family's traditional New Year's Eve dinner.

These guys are deep fried alive, the oil later is used as ointment

(for rheumatism, so it is claimed). And, they don't become snacks, but they are brewed in hot water and the water is drank as some kind of tonic. So, when we are finally over with the corona virus don't be too happy, there are many more to come.
