Home-style Filipino foods can be found ready to eat along open-air, sidewalk restaurants in most neighborhoods throughout the Philippines. Large kettles full of white rice provide the main staple which is used to fill ones plate. One or two entrees, similar to the ones shown in this picture top the rice. The woman in this picture rests before the lunch crowd arrives to eat.
I chose to display this image with a selective color technique. the black and white conversion brings out the textures of the kitchen and the selective color brings focus to the foods.

Fried chicken is a popular food source, even out in the country. I'm still confused why the local villagers still eat rats. It's rather cheap and tastes a whole lot better too! I think it's more about the hunt than the meal.

Chicken Joy is a named used by the ubiquitous Philippines fast food chain called "Jollibee" for their fast food fried chicken. Many local Filipino entrepreneurs make their own version of fried chicken and plagiarized the term adding their own name to the fast food.

This little guy was sitting in the dining hall at Sophie B. Wright Charter School in New Orleans. We went in during some of the Mardi Gras parades on Napoleon Avenue and enjoyed fried chicken and red beans and rice! DElicious! But I couldn't help seeing this little bear! He was quiet, but friendly, and definitely not hungry!

FINALLY! Last night was the "premier" of "Sordid Lives" TV series, which is a "prequel" to the movie. These are Southern women, so there is always fried chicken being eaten, along with sweet tea of course.

Weekends usually mean only one thing for Stormtrooper Bruce, it's Movie Night with the guys. A time to relax, unwind, catch up and complain about the previous week. This weekend however, STB has a little something up his sleeve.
STB: You know, I forgot how much I liked this movie!
TK-432: Yes, I know. That's why I put it in my lineup for tonight!
TK-1110: And just wait until you see what I picked for tonight!
STB: I can hardly wait, because I really like this movie!
TK-432: Dude! Enough already. We're beginning to think you've lost your touch.
