View from my window - Having one of those horrible weather days in Toronto - icy roads and sidewalks, accidents, fallen electrical lines, sirens... I won't venture outside and risk a fall!
... Nothing hurts more than being disappointed by the single person you thought would never hurt you.
have a nice weekend everyone 💕
another snowstorm coming this weekend, we have a real winter this year !
Patea, South Taranaki, NZ
This meat processing plant was established in 1893 as a cannery but converted to frozen meat in 1904. It was bought by the Vestey Group of Liverpool in 1934, a notorious tax dodging enterprise which by then was based in Brazil.
Livestock was railed in, processed, frozen and railed out with the waste dumped directly into the Patea River over which part of the plant was built. At one time it employed over 1000 people, mostly local Maori and was a huge loss to the region when it closed in 1982.
Il has only been partially demolished since its closure over 30 years ago.
It's cold outside and will be dipping down to -20 to -25F tonight. Time to bundle up and put an extra log in the wood-stove.
Thanks to Unsplashed for part of the background.
Another one from yesterday morning when the world looked like a page from a fairytale book. Gisteren ochtend geschoten in het prachtige winter wonderland wat ik nu al mis.
February was the coldest on record in South Western Ontario. This photo was taken in February when the temperature varied between -20 and -37 Celsius, depending on the wind.
Jenbach is a stream and is located in Bavaria, Germany. At the food of the mountain Wendelstein you can walk along this wild stream. Very seldom it is that cold and a part of this wild stream is frozen.

As typical on anticyclonic winter days, the valleys and plains of neighboring Carinthia alpine region are covered by dense low clouds (Stratus) accumulated by a weak north-east current.
Due to the light flow these stratus clouds enter the valleys arranged from N/E towards S/W and press on the mountain passes; these masses are cold and humid, therefore "heavy", as if representing a vast mass of water, they cannot climb steep mountain slopes, while they seek an easy transfer through the lower areas of a mountain range or at the junction between 2 different ranges.
For this reason the Alpine passes and saddles, where the air masses from different areas cross and converge, are decidedly interesting from a meteorological and microlimatic point of view.
Among other things, the cloudy/foggy mass has waves, always referring to the water which well represents the movements of dense and heavy air, which at times cover the area, leaving the ice crystals that make up these clouds on all surfaces, for then withdraw and let the phenomenon be appreciated.
