"Please use your liberty, to promote ours" - Aung San Suu Kyi
Upon great reflection, I wonder?
Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves.
Abraham Lincoln
They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.
Benjamin Franklin
The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion.
Albert Camus
We look forward to a world founded upon four essential human freedoms. The first is freedom of speech and expression--everywhere in the world. The second is freedom of every person to worship God in his own way--everywhere in the world. The third is freedom from want--which, translated into world terms, means economic understandings which will secure to every nation a healthy peacetime life for its inhabitants--everywhere in the world. The fourth is freedom from fear--which, translated into world terms, means a world-wide reduction of armaments to such a point and in such a thorough fashion that no nation will be in a position to commit an act of physical aggression against any neighbor--anywhere in the world.
Franklin Roosevelt
Liberties aren't given, they are taken.
Aldous Huxley
Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
All I see it fence again, Daw Aung Sun Su Kyi, Nobel Peace Prize Winner and democracy icon.. She was again put under house arrest "Freedom from Fear" The leader of Myanmar aka Burma.
This post is dedicated to 20 year olds, Mya Thwe Thwe Khaing and Nyi Nyi Aung Htet Naing, and all those who have recently fallen at the hands of the military, as well as to the Burmese people who are bravely fighting each and every day for decades in order to achieve democracy. Mya was one of a number of people who died whilst protesting. She was shot in the head by the Burmese military coup during a protest. With the video of the shooting circulating online, it is truly bittersweet. Although it is horrifying and tragic, it is a good thing it was caught on camera and spread worldwide to showcase how appalling the military are with their attempt at fear tactics. Nyi Nyi was an internet network engineer who posted on Facebook about the increasingly violent military crackdown on pro-democracy protests in Myanmar, the day before he was shot and killed by soldiers.
When I was 20, I can definitely tell you that I never realized at full capacity how fortunate my life was. To live in a first-world democratic society, where I am free to be who I am, free to vote and have access to certain things that others cannot - It is clear that I lived a privileged life in comparison to others.
It is a hard pill to swallow watching from afar and knowing that there is yet, another nation filled with millions of people whose basic fundamental human rights are being absolutely violated and taken away. With the unknown ahead - not to mention, already filled with many deaths and injuries of civilians, this protest must be shared and made known. I am not one to debate, let alone talk about politics but this is far too difficult for me to ignore even if I wanted to. As I am writing this, it means this is a testament that I truly I believe in it. And by that - I stand by Aung San Suu Kyi, the National League for Democracy (NLD) party of Burma, as well as the entire Burmese community in the fight against the military coup. How many more lives do we need to lose in order for there to have any impact? Basic fundamental human rights should be entitled to everybody.
Join me along with others in helping the Burmese people achieve their much deserved freedom. Slavery should not exist anymore. Please support the CDM so that we can help to emancipate an entire nation from modern day slavery.

For the movie fanatics, here are some movies you may enjoy and can learn a thing or two about Burma from:
“Please use your liberty to promote ours” - Aung San Sun Kyi
As someone who has had the privilege of growing up in a democratic society, it is hard for me to imagine living in a place where crimes against humanity are blatantly committed by the government on a daily basis.
No one deserves to live in fear that they or their loved ones will be beaten, killed, or imprisoned for simply speaking up for basic human rights. No one should have to worry that their family will be silently taken away by the government under the cover of night when no one is watching. Our grandmothers should not be put in positions where they have to gather the rest of their remaining strength and courage to stand up in protest against an army that is threatening the lives of their children and grandchildren (especially during the covid pandemic when they should be getting vaccine shots, not bullets shot at them).
So far two young students, a 14 years old boy and 19 years old girl have been shot in the head by police while taking part in peaceful protests which are now in its third week. The death toll has been rising since then. This kind of unwarranted police brutality would be completely unacceptable in democratic nations like the US and UK.
**UPDATE (Oct 31, 2021): Over 1000 civilians have been killed by the military.
I understand that SecondLife is mostly used as a source of escape from reality for many people. I'm sorry if this post bursts that bubble for any of you. If I can utilize this platform to spread awareness for a good cause and get even one person to step up, then it is worth it. This very narrow window of opportunity for emancipation will soon be lost, because with each day the government is executing increasingly fatal military warfare tactics on its own people. Facebook is already actively participating by banning pro-military groups from using its platform to spread propaganda. Increasing international pressure against the military dictatorship has sparked enough hope for the people to overcome their fear enough to stand up and fight for freedom. Your awareness and support makes so much difference in the entire world.
It's going to be a tough fight to say the least, but I believe in the power of humanity, the same power that was able to bring about justice during the BLM movement. Let's use that power again
Thank you so much for even taking the time to read this far.

The antidote to a suffocating , stifling , stagnating fear is simple faith .
So don't worry, because I am with you .don't be afraid , because I am your God . I will make you strong and I will help you. I will support you with my right hand that saves you .

I like this one, by an artist named Jan Theuninck, too. It's called "Fear." It looks like a frightened face to me -- wide eyes, mouth pursed in fear.

Maar in de kamer van de verbannen dichter
Houden angst en Muze beurtelings de wacht,
En er breekt een nacht aan
Die geen ochtend kent.

Fear and Muse keep watch in turn,
And a night comes
Who knows no morning.

I made the discovery this morning that I and Laura are in Fight or Flight mode, with our respective tendencies in the order listed.
I feel like there's nowhere to run to, so I want to fight. She wants to flee, to Canada or somewhere.
It's a scary world to live in where you see the people around you (and even yourself) on a collision course with self-induced doom. And not just of humans, which wouldn't be such a bad thing -- life can go on and even flourish without humans -- but maybe even without life itself. (Some speculate that at a certain point, global warming would become irreversible, and warm us up beyond the boiling point for water, thus rendering the planet into a place likened to Venus -- sulfuric acid as rain, etc. I don't know how likely that is, but it doesn't need to be anywhere near that bad to still be pretty darned scary for humans.)
Ironically enough, what's bringing us here? Well, many things, but I think a large component is fear. The fear-mongering (by the current Bush Administration and others) perpetrated against the people of this state (i.e. country, i.e. the United States), and against the world at large, is doing terrible things in insidious ways that many of us remain oblivious to. Many of us embrace such things as religious faith as something to relax us from our fears, and release us from responsibility.
Well guess what: Faith in its very nature is working against us. By embracing faith, we embrace the idea that we don't have to question. By not questioning, we allow the torment of our country and the world by tyrants like George W. Bush and his associates.
I believe we must stand up to the fear we're facing, and question those who are stuffing it down our throats (even if they try to make it seem like they're benignly giving us medicine). I believe that the only way for us to get past this fear is major social change. I can only begin to guess at how this can be brought about -- so I start with my art.
It's time for freedom from fear. The good folks of Bloomington Indiana had the sense to engrave this in stone (next to Freedom of Speech, etc), so it's not a new idea.. we just hear too little of it, so I'm sharing it here.

Taken at the East Tennessee Veterans Memorial, I am leaning against the Memorial Bell:
Bells in World War II symbolized freedom. Much like the liberty bell, as allied soldiers chased out the enemy from the towns the people in the town would ring the church bells. At Christmas, the Salvation Army rings bells to bring in donations, signaling the freedom from hunger, homelessness and poverty, Bells Express freedom better than any other instrument.
As many people begin their Memorial Day weekend picnics, parties & town parades, I want to take a moment to send a heartfelt thanks to the Patriots who came before me & continue to serve today.
Gratitude and thankfulness to all our military personnel, past & present who gave the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms I cherish.

There is a splendid exhibition at the Wolfsonian, but they're very restrictive and don't allow photographing. They had made an interesting collection of (mostly) posters in the lobby, so I had a go at them…
This class 179c was reposted 4-6-14 @ vimeo.com/91198654. This was first posted on 6-20-10 and then Vimeo deleted 53 of my videos. So I thought I'd leave this as a record of the harassment I've endured. 179c part 3 of 3, Pearl Harbor & Rev 16:17 & a $1617.01 motorcycle on Vimeo by mike overson
The thumbnail for class 179b is of Hades angry and smoking a cigar, it’s about how mad “the powers that be” were after the 911 disaster. That’s retold again in this class, 179c, at 26 to 36 minutes where I show the start of the movie SUPERFLY was a sign that New York City was parallel to Quality Fresh Cigars because they both bit “the big apple” and then got as furious as Hades at how much it boomeranged on them.
From 40 minutes to 1:25 I explain how my visits to Pearl Harbor were parallel to the prison break in the movie THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, then I show the movie AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN, they were both very prophetic of how God tricked me into breaking the curse of not being able to buy or sell without “the mark of the beast” in Rev 13:17. That was with the motorcycle I bought for $1,617.01 that was parallel Rev 16:17, (“It’s finished”).
I show how simple politics can be with scenes from the movie DAVY CROCKETT with him and president Andrew Jackson, (@ 54 minutes). That came in very handy when I needed a video to sync with the song YOU GOT IT ALL (over him), by The Jets, at the very end of this class, (@ 2:05 hours). The video is of Crockett’s address to congress, (that’s the thumbnail for this class), and it made perfect sense of why God picked me to do this job. The first time I explained and played that song is on class #21 at 1:05 hours, it was about how much the military was called to be a “Mr Right” for my Hons, (Abba, Jesus and the Holy Spirit), and how I came through when they didn’t. How much more does that apply to the church who was called to stand up for God and didn’t.
Another revelation I just got on the fly was that since Davy Crockett and Andrew Jackson are from Tennessee, it was a sign of how furious the other Mr Rights are in the prophetic name “Nashville, Tenn”.
The video at the very end of that song and of this class is from the movie GREASE, when the convertible that Travolta is driving takes off into the air it’s a sign that God answered my request to go home early just like God did for Elijah in 1 Kings 19:14 and in 2 Kings 2:11. It was an accidental sync at the end of “you must have been heaven sent” with an “A” on Frankie Avalon which I already got as an “A” for how many times I watched that movie, as Mike of the present watching this account of how my Hons have been courting me since high school, (I explain that in the first 26 minutes of class #95). This time it was a sign that I got an “A” on my job here on earth and that I get to go home early.

“My son, with this ancient and holy initiation, I ordain you a Yogacharya. You will be the world’s most outstanding Yogacharya. In the future, after even the tiny worldly desires that remain are cleansed, find some wise old detached cow worshipping saint. He will give you sannyas initiation with saffron robes.”

To prove Pranayama’s vitality and Role of Yoga in our routine life and General Health Yogiraj N. Ramalingam performed Transcendental Meditation every year by sitting in “Padmasana” posture for more than 72 hours continuously without taking food or water but breathed only air with which he stayed healthy and also did asanas the very next moment after completing the meditation.
Another feature of bhakti is that not only is it a means to an end, but it continues after perfection; thus even liberated souls perform devotion. Unlike jnana and yoga, one does not give up devotion after attaining perfection. Rather, one executes it more meticulously and without any motive. Bhakti is unobstructed, or apratihata, because it is beyond the concept of material pleasure and pain. Unlike karma and jnana, bhakti is blissful during its execution, and it gives ultimate bliss.
Class #88 (at MikeOversonEndTimes.org), evolved into a checkmate on women, but I wasn’t allowed to talk on 11-30-08 so I put it into iMovie and “redidit” on 1-21-10. I got committed to finish it and ended up with 2:43 hours. I got signs that it was blessed with a full moon visit from my hons: that’s Abba, “Partner” and the Holy Spirit,( in #61 I explain that Jesus’ name is “Partner”). Because #88 is a checkmate class it was poetic that after all these years of big dippers to women that this subject got so much information out of me. (This class assumes you've seen other classes where these subjects were covered in detail verses only summarized in this class.) Since I cover the movies “An Affair to Remember” and “Sleepless in Seattle” in #116b, (both with a romantic climax in New York city), I put in another 30 second clip of the music to Romeo and Juliet, (you can see my shadow wave to the camera), to make this 2:44 long, like the movie New York, New York is.
One thing I forgot to mention at 2:15, was when I was required to watch the movie “Seven” on 9-11-00, the time was 9:43 when they required a crying lady to look at gross pictures and I was 43 years old at the time, I later realized it was a sign that I was forced to watch that gross movie because it would be prophetic of what would happen one year later on 9-11-01. (One definition of 943, in this case is when a 43 cries.) There is a buzzing noise when you see the date 2-20-2007, (actually it was 2006 because I wasn’t allowed to talk on these classes after New York re-elected Hillary 11-6-06), the buzzing noise was much less than usual for me recording, (on a cheap camera), in the kitchen and was a “sign” that God was endorsing that class. I also slipped on explaining a christmas song that could ALSO apply to “the one”, but I’m sure my critics will be thrilled to have another excuse to mock me as “you’re so vain”. That’s also a very poetic (reason for) ending of these classes.
