This car I saw at vintage car rally and I was awestruck by its beauty. The sturdy chrome grill and the Jaguar on the bonnet look spectacular. The Mk V was a face lifted Mk IV. The Mk V was given a new front with integrated head lamps and some technical updates were carried out. The Jaguar Mk V is a very sought after automobile.

The 21 Gun Salute International Vintage Car Rally, is the first vintage car rally I attended. I was super excited to see the collection of the classic cars from the oldest 1909 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost to the youngest 1966 Ford Mustang. It was a very well organized event. Mr. Mahesh Sharma (minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation) flagged off the rally at the Red Fort in New Delhi and the Buddh International Circuit (F1 Track, India) at Greater Noida. This Cadillac Phaeton was treat to the eyes. A 4-door convertible Cadillac Phaeton was a beauty to behold with every bit clean, sturdy and sparkling. Rearview mirror made of chrome reflecting the front view of the part of the car, the track and the spectators on the side. The car has electric windshield wipers, extensive use of chrome and Synchromesh transmission. The cars and the rally was an event not to be missed.

While digging through some old folders, I found one labelled JPEG. I haven't shot or tried to edit JPEG in... well, just over four years. Even with the editing limitations, it was fun to revisit this little snapshot in time.

A pair of '55 Chevy four door sedans parked next to each other at the 2019 Back to the Fifties car show. Both two tone paint but different areas. Blue one lowered but Red one original height.
If you like 58s, here's a nice one.

A model introduced in 1968 as the base model of the range, serving as a transition model between the Dodge line and its predecessor Valiant Line. Its name is due to the incorporation of the mechanical assembly of the Valiant IV model, consisting mainly of its Chrysler Slant-Six engine of 6 in-line cylinders and 225 cubic in (3678 cc.) with a compression ratio of 7.3:1 and coupled to a manual 3-speed case. 1968-1979

I don't see that many Nash cars at shows so this was a treat to see this 1956 Nash Ambassador Super. It was in great shape inside and out. I was a 56 model myself and I think the car is in better shape than I am ; ). This beauty was seen at the 2026 Appleton City Car Show.

1957 Chevrolet '210' four door sedan at the 2011 Back to the Fifties car show.
It's difficult to explain in words or photo just how near perfect this car was. It didn't look restored...it looked brand new.
While waiting to cross the road this beautiful Pontiac custom went by. I was so mesmerized by this car that I forgot to take a shot, until it was too late. I get a kick out of the dog in the passenger seat.

Today my parents, Benni and I went to my dad's favorite surfing beach - Old Man's. Here's a list of the surfing beaches between San Clemente and San Onofre:
North Pier, T-Street, Riviera, Cotton's, Trestles (Upper, Lower, Middle - yes, that is the correct order), Church, Sand Bar, Point, Four Doors, Old Man's, Dog Patch.
Don't you love those names? You won't find them on any map. They are the names that the surfers have given the different beaches and only other surfers know them. And now YOU know them!
I go back home day after tomorrow. I've missed George, Ella, Mack, Jimmy and Sadie but to tell you the truth, I've missed them far less than I thought I would. It's just been a great visit with my parents, Alex and Benni made even better because of the year we've had.
