The type of weather you are sure to find when you go to Antarctica. There was plenty of snow on the hills of Brown Bluff and the penguins were having a hard time building their nests. Cold and wet.

Sports fans in some cities get an extra show during night games: kestrels perching on light standards or foul poles, tracking moths and other insects in the powerful stadium light beams and catching these snacks on the wing. Some of their hunting flights have even made it onto TV sports coverage.

Day 5 - Gipsvika > Gipsdalen, Spitzberg (Svarlbard - Norway).
Là où il nous semblerait être les premiers à fouler ces terres, nous découvrons avec surprise et émerveillement des traces laissés par nos prédécesseurs. Ce tracteur est posté comme un guetteur devant un ancienne "maison" de mineurs. Il veille, surveillant la montagne avec patience et sagesse, attendant peut-être le retour de ses propriétaires.
Dans la foule du centre-ville s'empressant pour ses dernières emplettes avant le Réveillon de Noël, un coureur de Noël s'entraîne... Sans doute pour faire un peu de place pour la dinde qui l'attend le soir-même...!

These handsome diving ducks belong to the sawbill family, so called because of their long, serrated bills, used for catching fish. Their diet of fish such as salmon and trout has brought them into conflict with game fishermen. At home on both fresh- and saltwater, red-breasted mergansers are most commonly seen around the UK's coastline in winter. They are gregarious, forming flocks of several hundred in the autumn
The UK breeding population of red-breasted mergansers are concentrated in the north-west of Scotland, England, Wales and in parts of N Ireland. RSPB reserves with red-breasted mergansers in winter include Morecambe Bay, Lancs; Langstone Harbour, Hants; Exe Estuary, Devon; Arne, Dorset; Snettisham and Titchwell Marsh, Norfolk; Lough Foyle, Co Londonderry; Belfast Lough, Co Antrim; Culbin Sands, Highland; Udale Bay, Highland

Le territoire d'Eze ne se limite pas au bord de mer, en remontant la moyenne corniche (N7), vous découvrirez Eze village, ce haut lieu touristique est l'un des villages les plus pittoresques du département et fait partie des must à visiter (malgré la foule...).
Il y a des lieux de votre enfance qui vous marquent profondément et si je devais en retenir quelques-uns, Eze Village en ferait sûrement partie. C’est une très jolie commune de Provence, située à une dizaine de kilomètres de Nice… et plus exactement, nichée sur les hauteurs, face à la Méditerranée.

My sister Nat and I decided to play a game of volleyball against our boyfriends, you know, girls versus guys. We were winning of course so Frankie decided to play dirty and attack my bikini to try and give them the advantage. We still won, lol. Now we're on our way back to our resort so that I can change and not be reported for violating the beach guidelines.

Under another of the night's heavy rainfalls the crew of HA-3 patiently waits at Airport Road for someone to move their car away from the crossing. This of course being after a long and loud sounding of the horn. The downtime offered a great chance to take advantage of the lovely weather.

It is cold, snowy and blowy here this morning. I'm glad we did Thanksgiving on Tuesday, because of the kids' work schedule. It's awful out there.
