Probably my last post for a while, although I might log in from time to time. For some time (maybe one or two months) I fly off to other places. This time with my camper towards Denmark.
There are probably also some birds there, and as long as the holidays do not start yet, there may also be some space and tranquility. I do wish everyone a nice summer (holiday).
The shot here was taken in Arkemheen, a wonderful bird area in the Netherlands, and I found it again since I am cleaning up my pictures.
Sono due i palchetti della musica presenti a Palermo. Costruiti entrambi nell’800, presentano un’architettura neoclassica e sono stati utilizzati per tanti anni per concerti di orchestrine e bande musicali: uno a Piazza Castelnuvo ed uno al Foro Italico.
Il Palchetto della Musica al Foro Italico fu realizzato nel 1846 su progetto di Domenico Lo Faso e Carlo Giachery e costituiva il monumento simbolo delle passeggiate estive della nobiltà e borghesia palermitane, dove potersi allietare con dolci sinfonie.
Colonne ioniche circondano lo spazio rialzato destinato ai musicisti. Agli angoli della cornice, quattro grandi aquile mentre al centro del prospetto principale la lapide commemorativa dedicata al grande compositore catanese Vincenzo Bellini. (www.turismopalermo.it )

Three Alaska railroad GP's prepare to load out the rest of the ARMS barge on a typical Whittier day. Cold, wet, and foggy pretty much sums up this all season port with the original military era housing standing in the background. One of the neat things about the Whittier switch stands is that they all are some how lit at the same time in this shot and no its not photoshopped. After loading is complete these three Gp's will depart under the cover of darkness for Anchorage.
