Edinburgh Castle plays host to the marching band.

A hot summer afternoon, the lazy buzzing of the insects, the warm smell of the grass....time streches and finally stops....I wonder what's beyond that ridge?

Time (Le Temps qui passe)

Time

I saw the time passing

In the four winds

On hundreds of nuances of color

Through how many dawns or crepuscules ?

I saw the time going by

Indifferent to human affairs

Insensitive to their beginnings and their ends,

Deaf to the cries, the tears, the hopes.

But the impression I was left with, painted of a hundred shades of color :

The beauty carried through is always recreated

Indifferent to the Time that goes by

Sensitive to the harmonies of the world that is made, and re-made constantly.

I am shooting my first wedding tomorrow and I think I'm ready...no stress at all:)

So I will be off Flickr for awhile as, after the wedding, I will be spending all my time processing the images, which I figure will take 5 or 6 days. Then, the following week, we are going on a road trip through Eastern Washington, so won't be around then either. If I have any time in between, I'll do my best to post and comment. Will miss you and see you in a few weeks!

Breathe, breathe in the air,

Cherish this moment,

Cherish this breath

Tomorrow is a new day for everyone,

Brand new moon, brand new sun

When you feel life coming down on you,

Like a heavy weight

When you feel this crazy society,

Adding to the strain

Take a stroll to the nearest waters

And remember your place

Many moons have risen and fallen long, long before you came

So which way is the wind blowin',

And what does your heart say?

Rivage mystique

Mystics Shores

“The incomprehensible seems to beckon us from the background of the landscapes. It is the core of the experience of the beauty of the world” - Alexandre Lacroix, philosopher

This chaotic landscape hypnotized me

As if I had always known it,

But, yet, never seen.

It was neither beautiful or charming,

Neither ugly or terrifying

Rather terribly inhuman,

Anterior to life itself,

Of which we saw scattered traces

Clinging to the roughness of the rocks.

I could see it, touch it, feel it under my feet

Smell the salty air

Watch unlikely clouds dance

Hear the songs of the Earth

Play the elementary harmonics.

And yet I couldn't find the words

To explain the strange attraction that this landscape had on me.

A bit like a knowledge that seeks itself

In impenetrable, distant and unspeakable origins,

Of which we bear traces.

The storm was approaching, threatening

And mystery enveloped me.

Across the Universe

When I was young, I loved watching the stars

Through a telescope;

People thought I was here,

But often I was up there.

There, is also in each of us,

There are up there unexplored worlds that we ignore,

Consenting prisoners of our daily reality.

Crossing the universe, the one that lives inside me,

I never failed to find the light

To love passionately

The colors of this little world,

The useless things,

The remote roads,

The children that laugh,

The mood of your eyes.

I am still up there, dancing with the stars

More than ever

But, I don't need a telescope anymore

And people are not looking for me anymore.

Crossing the universe, I discovered. . .

The dreamer who was looking through the telescope

This gem is tucked in the the south west corner of St Mary le Strand church. It is a tight spiral, with very plain Portland stone treads.

The church was designed by James Gibbs and was built between 1714 and 1723. It was part of the Queen Anne Commission for Building Fifty New Churches.

This week´s business trip took me to the North of The Netherlands into the Province Noord-Holland. Despite many contacts and trips into the country this part of the Dutch North Sea coastline was quite unknown to me. It was a pleasure to experience the area around Den Helder and - by coincidence - I had my camera with me...
