She's actually quite " SHABBY CHIC ", for a KoKeshi " possibly a MOD KOKESHI DOLL, since she has such a high paint lustre.

I made some creatures to sell this past Christmas - these are two of them. To me they were a bear and a rabbit, but people had different ideas about what each one was. Turns out they could be many different creatures. I like that about them.
and then again... i like the spin, and the relationship to that old amish simplicity of design. playing with the familiar. tradition. but using that to confuse my direction. i think a magic trick uses the expected as a diversion. there is a velvet patch from dianne cransac in there. some of glennis's moons form the corners of the nine patch. tiggy rawling dyed the fabric for the second set of corners.

Tuscarora, Nevada has become an artist's colony of sorts. We stopped there very briefly on our fall camping trip, and I photographed some of the quirky art around the town.
