Double-crested Cormorants are fast flyers and I'm usually lousy at capturing fast flyers. However, I had a bit of luck with this one as it flew by in Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge, Utah.
But even with 1/1250 shutter speed, there's still a bit of wing motion blur. Yep, that's a fast flyer.
Another installment from our recent three-state journey.

The Singapore Flyer is an observation wheel at the Downtown Core district of Singapore. Officially opened on 15 April 2008, it has 28 air-conditioned capsules, each able to accommodate 28 passengers.
The Flyer has an overall height of 165 metres (541 ft), making it the world's tallest Ferris wheel upon completion. It was surpassed by the High Roller Ferris wheel which opened in 2014 in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States, with a height of 167.6 m (550 ft), making it 2.6 m (9 ft) taller than the Flyer.
This is a 30 second exposure intended to get some blur into the water. An unexpected benefit was highlighting the movement of the capsules around the wheel. I used the tripod (obviously) which caused quite a bit of attention, making numerous enthusiastic far east tourists rush to get the same shot - some of them believing it perfectly normal to stand right in front of me😂. All good fun👍

View from SkyPark at Marina Bay Sands. It's a journey against all odds for Singaporeans without natural resources to succeed in hosting the grand event.
The Red-footed Booby is an agile flyer, but clumsy in takeoffs and landings. They are found widely in the tropics.

The Western Flyer is a fishing boat, most known for its use by John Steinbeck and Ed Ricketts in their 1940 expedition to the Gulf of California, the notes from which culminated in their 1941 book Sea of Cortez, later reworked by Steinbeck into The Log from the Sea of Cortez. Young Flyer - Immature Golden Eagle cruising by. This is my first close-up shot of an immature Golden Eagle - you can clearly identify them from the neat white rectangular wing patches and white tail base. I've photographed the adults for several years, but never got a nice pass of the youngsters until this season.

Radio Flyer is an American toy company best known for their popular red wagon. It is based in Chicago, Illinois. Antonio Pasin started building wooden toy wagons in Chicago in 1917, and by 1923 had formed the Liberty Coaster Company (named after the Statue of Liberty). In 1930, the company was renamed Radio Steel & Manufacturing; the first steel wagon produced was named Radio Flyer. Pasin coined the name Radio Flyer from his fascination with both the invention of the radio and flight. During World War II, the company produced special gas cans, known as Blitz cans, for the US Army.
Throughout the second half of the 20th century, Radio Flyer became well known for the popular red Radio Flyer wagon. Today, the company produces a wide range of children's toy vehicles, including fire engines, bicycles and tricycles, and racers.
Flyers in the night. Just trying to be a little artistic with color, time and the blur from the birds in the night.

The Singapore Flyer is a giant Ferris wheel in Singapore. Described by its operators as an observation wheel, it opened in 2008, construction having taken about 2½ years. It carried its first paying passengers on 11 February, opened to the public on 1 March, and was officially opened on 15 April.
This is from a band named AMPutee I was in and we played rock and roll. I created this and the next flyer for one of our first gigs, before we had a chance to get some photographs of the members. Once we had time to do that, I used the photographs we took and started designing new flyers. Maybe I'll dig some of those out sometime.
