I saw this pretty daffodil flowerpot in the local supermarket before holiday time. I wanted to get it but if I bring it home, my parrot would eat up straight away. So I just gave up and took a photo.

Happy Easter!

This is a panorama made up of seven vertical shots taken just before sunset. This is the "big" flowerpot on Flowerpot Island in Georgian Bay, about 6.5km's off the coast of Tobermory Ontario, Canada.

It was an amazing experience being on the island for sunset. Unlike the daytime, there were no hordes of people, just a wonderful feeling of serenity.

I'm slowly getting used to this new Olympus. The 25mm (50mm equiv.) is very sharp wide open, allowing for beautiful shallow depth of field..

Wer hat schon die Terasse um einen solchen BlumenkÜbel aufzustellen.

I did not believe my eyes - my tiny fig tree produces a fig!

I don't know what attracted the tufted titmouse to this flowerpot, but he sat in there for nearly a half hour, looking quite content and eventually falling asleep. He's been returning to the flowerpot nearly every afternoon for his nap. Backyard bird.

I quite liked the design on my neighbor's flowerpot :)

On Flowerpot Island the Lightkeeper’s Host Program was started in 1998. This program allows volunteers to live at the Flowerpot Island lightstation for a period of time, doing the many jobs that are the responsibility of the lightkeeper.

These volunteers paint, keep up the gardens, provide interpretation services for the many visitors to the site, and, offer a real live clothesline for visitor to see while visiting the island ;-)

I am just back from 4 days of camping and have not had a chance to sort through those pictures yet, so decided the time was right to share this whimsical shot of the clothesline hanging over a cobble beach taken a few weeks ago while vacationing in Tobermory, Ontario (yet another camping trip).

I am looking forward to visiting your own photos over the next couple of days. Thanks as always for your wonderful support and friendship.

Flowerpot Parasol Leucocoprinus bimbaumii mushroom growing in the strawberry pot next to a dead Mondo grass. I had Mondo grass growing out of each hole, but the heat and drought and torrential downpours of late killed the grass.

The cool "Seek" app that Sue Milks told me about ID'd it for me. Thanks again, Sue. Pretty cool.

Do you spot the flowerpot?

I took this photo in Hamburg, standing on the terrace of the Elbphilharmonie. Across the river was this building with its bricks and very geometric windows. And then there was this single, tiny point of green on one of the balcony which almost looked misplaced or forgotten.

Someone set a plastic flowerpot on fire, back in 2019.

Sadly, I gather that this amazing formation was one of the casualties of 2022's storms.

The scale of this formation is evident in the folks standing in the lower-left (5:00 o'clock) position of the central hole.

A few of the "flowerpots" carved by the incredible tides of the Bay of Fundy.

from Wikipedia ... The en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hopewell_Rocks, also called the Flowerpot Rocks or simply The Rocks, are rock formations caused by tidal erosion in The Hopewell Rocks Ocean Tidal Exploration Site in New Brunswick. They stand between 40-70 feet tall.

...

The Bay of Fundy is known for having the highest tidal range in the world. Rivaled by Ungava Bay in northern Quebec, King Sound in Western Australia, Gulf of Khambhat in India, and the Severn Estuary in the UK, it has one of the highest vertical tidal ranges in the world. The Guinness Book of World Records (1975) declared that Burntcoat Head, Nova Scotia has the highest tides in the world:

“The Natural World, Greatest Tides: The greatest tides in the world occur in the Bay of Fundy.... Burntcoat Head in the Minas Basin, Nova Scotia, has the greatest mean spring range with 14.5 metres (47.5 feet) and an extreme range of 16.3 metres (53.5 feet).”
